i used to be upsessed with led zeppelin so much they were like the only band i would listen to.
they were the band that led to my transition of all classic rock

I used to like them quite a bit... I ODed on them, though. Only listen to them once in a while. Jonesy was an amazing bassist - has a great solo career. My fave album is deffinitely 3... Friends is a great track.

its weird, when you like led zeppelin you ABSOLUTELY loveeee them. its so weird becuase it happens to everyone. theres just something about them. i got a little tired of them though becuase i had everyone of their cds and for a while i only listened to zeppelin, and eventually i just heard it to much.
but now i can listen to them again

^ I know, that is very true. And when you like Led Zeppelin, no other band can match. I still can't listen to them, though. Soon, maybe.

It's funny: once I got into the Who and stopped listening to Zep, it's like I saw the light, and realized other bands actually existed!

Zeppelin songs are an event. They not only have very odd but great lyrics they also have insane guitar and drum riffs and solos that are almost songs in themselves. Their music takes you in and you want more and more because its something that is unique and groundbreaking.

By rock you make me mad. Which of us would say that The Who are straight shooter rock. Its deeply lyrical instrumentation with many interesting ideas and concepts. Maybe the last few albums went abit off but it was still good music. Tommy and Quadrophenia are prime examples of why "straight shooter rock" is a ridiculous notion! Come on dont be like that...

THE WHO IS "SIMPLE SHOOTER ROCK"!? What the HELL do you think you're talking about? Pete Townshend wrote so much more intricate, thoughtful songs than fucking Robert Plant... Why? I'm not going to say why, because I'll offend some people here. But Townshend was and is a genious. Obviously you're not actually aquainted w/ any of the Who's songs beyond their basic hits. And even if you are, you aren't looking at the meaning. Me? I know every Zep song, and nearly every Who song. Believe me, the Who songs had much more wit to them.

(Wit in Entwistle's contributions, and intelligence in Townshend's)

I can only drink wine. Good enough, though.

I just want people to realize I know more about Zep then what they're already assuming. I was a fan for a few years. I am the biggest fan of JPJ's solo work. I frequent the Zep boards and know more about them then I should (anyone else on led-zep.com?).

I will admit I said some rather loud, rash things, though. Sorry. And I rarely edit posts, so I won't edit that one.

I periodically go on led-zep.com....I'm called TheGreenManalishi... I can't take it in large doses though... It's too full of kids... I have 'other' places to read intelligent discussions on Zeppelin... That's very pretentious of me to say it like that... but do I give a fuck? (I'm being rhetorical) [IMG]

Yeah I got into them about a year ago too. And I'm so glad I did! They are one of the greatest bands out there, man! I love the soul and blues in their music. I love Robert and his tight pants. :) And Jimmy's uber-guitar skills.... John Paul Jone's Bass power. And of course Bonham's crazy drummin'!

Actually, no... because the mods just got rid of the bigger threads.

Bah... all these girls drooling over Page and Plant... I really do not get it at all.

Anyway Bonham chased poor geese into a traffic filled road in a london party for the opening of "Swan Records" becuase they werent swans. (What a prick!) and they died - so much for pathos!

I started listening to Led Zepplin 3 years ago. I'm mainly influenced by John Paul Jones; he could play Bass and Piano. So can I.
