I thought about it so many times. But I really don't think I would have the guts to do so. I guess the whole idea of constantly being stared at wouldn't be so comfortable either. But more power to anybody who does.
LOL...being stared at is the best part. narrow minded people with some preconcieved notion that women are suppose to have long hair are people who need to see more and more women being stronger(sorry about my rant this is just one subject i believe in very strongly).
Just for the sake of argument, in a way you are actually being narrow-minded yourself in how you keep pushing that a woman can't *possibly* know how beautiful she is unless she shaves her head. Its as if you're trying to imply that a woman who has long hair doesn't think for herself. Come on, different strokes for different folks.
no no...thats not it at all...im not saying that a woman with long hair thinks this..its a revelaion a female monk once made and i found it to be very true..all im saying i if a woman thinks shes ugly, the only way to find their true inner beauty is to rid herself of the superficial veil she hides behind...in fact its more of a motivator
OK, point taken, and now that I see where you're coming from I very much agree. This concept can be applied to many things, not just hair (though hair is a good example). Another example would be of giving up the "veil" of makeup if one must rely on it to feel beautiful. I've done this, in fact, and it was very enlightening.
I've been thinking about it for a few years now. I keep varying up my hairstyle though. Now it's finally all one length, and it hits the bottom of my shoulderblades. Once I can sit on my hair I'm going to get it all cut off for locks of love. Whether I'll shave, or just go back to a pixie is uncertain at this point. Depends mostly on my job.
Place where I work specifically states in their dress code that "excessive or unconventional hairstyles" are "prohibited."
Trust me. Where I work, a woman with a shaved head would be considered unconventional. I believe it's wrong and everything too. But it just wouldn't be appropriate in the eyes of my employers, and the money's too good for me to sacrifice my job for a haircut.
I look better with short hair and prefer it, I hardly have hair now. Hair is hair, it always grows. I probably would if I got really hot and not give it a second thought.
