NO, it means that Sierra Leone's RUF killed or hacked off limbs of more innocent people, raped innocent women and used more mercury to extract the diamonds from the rivers, thus poisioning any drinking water they once had...OH and they also used the money from the diamonds they sold illegaly to buy more guns/cocaine to give to 10 year old kids they abduct from parents *after they kill them of course*.

I hope everyone enjoys wearing the blood of hundreds of thousands of innocent people on their fingers...its so stylish!;) Shall we all go out and buy some more diamonds now?:)

Any connection between Zale's and De Beers?

Diamonds/gold/platinum/silver are all considered to be strategic materials from an investment/military/survivalist POV.
    Platinum is Nice.
I'd like an obscenely enormous cache of platinum...

i used to be of the school of thought that the ring wasnt important. now i notice that when i look at a woman, the first thing i look at is no longer her tits, not even her ass, and not even her eyes. first thing i look at is her ring finger. so my womans gettin a rock. of course she'll probably get a car first but she gets a big ol rock.

My ex bought me a ring from a pawn shop, and the diamond was a pretty little thing that I thought fit me perfectly, and of course I didn't care about the ring so much as the intent behind it. That he loved me and wanted to be with me forever. Truth be told, after getting horribly brokenhearted by that fool, I told my best friend that if anyone ever proposed to me again, they'd better give me a nice big rock that they could barely afford to prove themselves to me. Awful I know! I can't believe I ever thought that now.

When hubby and I fell in love, hell he didn't even have to ask me. But he did. And promised me a beautiful ring. I told him I couldn't care less what kind of ring, how much, where from, or anything like that. I knew his intent behind it was good :). But he'd been scorned before too, and had bought her a rather pricey rock. And he was quite intent on buying me something "better" lol. God we sound so shallow lol. We're really not. He took great care in the ring he bought for me though. He wanted to get me the perfect one. He wanted to get something bigger, but I told him too big was too gaudy and on my slim fingers would look odd. I wanted to buy him one too, for engagement, but he's too damn picky lol. Honestly, most men's rings look awful. For the wedding band, he got a nice simple, white gold, comfort fit. He's so protective of it too :). We're both protective of them, but we know what we are feeling protective over is that intent behind the symbols....I've already told him he'd better opt to get that ring cut off if he had to choose between that and his finger (anyone remember hearing about that soldier who had his finger cut off to save his ring??!)! I'd rather have him in one piece.

i dont really care. not that i want somthing plastic that was 3 dollars at a thrift store, but a ring is just a symbol of your love for that person. it doesnt show that your love is better then anyone elses because your ring is more expencive.
