"Like every empire, what goes around will come around until we have destroyed ourselves, our children's future hopes, and our standing in the world. It is truly to despair that a nation with so much potential for constructive engagement chooses instead to pad its own nest at the expense of so many countless others around the globe."

wow, freak out, i actually agree with lickHERish here. nothing lasts forever. and the longer someone or something is in power, the more the power is abused and will eventually destroy itself.it seems to be the natural order of things.

as for the rest, well, i would consider the keeping of government out of religion and people's lives to be extremely conservative, just something that liberals like to think they can call their own, while at the same time trying very hard to insert government into many many facets of the american people's lives.

But aren't conservatives generally the ones that want to keep the government inside people's bedrooms???

Uh, If you knew anything at all, Liberals are for bigger government, while history has shown Conservatives in more favor of big business and small government.

John Edwards is a typical, mainstream Democrat, and one of the richest people in the Senate. I don't like the guy at all, but at least he's a better choice than Gephardt.

Fuck they're all the same: rich, white men who are good at talking a lot of bullshit - nothing more.

Yet, you support Bush and his Patriot Act which he wishes to expand upon even more, hence the government having the power to have even greater intervention in your life. But, as long as things are cool at the car lot.....

true, i can't really see anything about this bush administration that could in any way be truly classified as conservative, aside from some truly bizarre OT bible thumping. but there's a difference between politically conservative and religiously conservative. the two have no place mingling. therefore, since bush is wanting to insert his religious dogma into other people's lives and have the state interferring in religious institutions, while increasing government spending, i would actually consider him a pschyzophrenic liberal.

Yes, I know that. I was just asking why conservatives want a smaller government, but they want it to control people's sex lives. That's all.

valkyrie, there's a difference between conservative christians and political conservatives. i'm a political conservative, which declares that government has no place dictating the private lives of it's citizens whose acts harm none. christian conservatives want everyone to live a christian life. while i'm a christian, i suppose they would consider me a lousy christian, because i refuse to vote for more government interference in my personal life or the personal lives of others, because first i'm a political conservative.

Kerry is an idiot. Hear me out for a second. If Edwards couldn't beat Kerry in the south (except for South Carolina).... how in the hell is that supposed to help him in the south? Edwards is way too liberal for most southerners and has very little experience. I'm just pointing out the obvious though.

i just saw a collage of photos of them on drudge report, and i guess people are making a big deal out of how affectionate they are with each other. like men don't touch, ever. god forbid any men should show any sort of affection or regard for each other. i just thought it was funny. here's the link if you want to see it. read the statement at the bottom, it's kinda funny: http://www.drudgereport.com/kerryk.htm
