Hey there! I found a link to this disscusion in the Dreadlockssite.com forums. There is a group of ppl in there who are also trying to find some land and set up a permanent community.

I would love to come stay with youall for awhile and help out in any way I can. I love to garden, build, cook, love animals..

Just curious what it's like now..I would be bringing my son, Cassady who is 2 yrs old, and his father, Niko, who is twenty6, and my cat...
We originally had planned to buy a van/bus and drive to CO and see if a Rainbow would convert it for us.. But now as I'm looking around more I'm seeing that there a tons of ppl starting communities. I would love to get in on a community that is freshly starting so that i could help organize anything that needs to be, and help build the beginnnings of what will be.

Do you have a fresh water source, have you tried any farming/gardening and how did it go? How is the weather during cold months?

Hey everyone! I know I haven't given you guys updates in awhile, and it seems there's more and more of you interested everyday. I am currently in CT right now, but I do plan on heading back real soon, (I actually met up with the people on the land again in December for a few weeks, but then headed back to CT again). Anyway, once I get down there it will be alot easier to get things moving. I promise to keep you all updated.

Hey ccrider1875, we do have fresh water from a big spring, I drank out of it the whole time I was there (about 2 months). As for gardening/farming, we will have atleast a greenhouse setup by this spring/summer, (we do plan on having goats/chickens, *I actually raise them up here in CT aswell*, and digging out a little pond/stream to raise fish on). The weather is mixed as I understand, (I've only been there in summer/fall), I know recently they've had some extreme weather (ice, snow, sun, tornado all in the same day!), but from what I understand stuff like that is really rare.

You ALL sound like good fits, as long as you can contribute something or other (work, food, knowledge, fun, etc.) there should be no problem.

Very interested! Been looking for a place like this to raid my young son and teach him about nature and simple living. Sounds amazing. Would have a small amount of start up cash. and would look for a place to work. Hopefully someone in the commune would bea willing babysitter a couple days a week. I would gladly pay.
Also would love to get to know people, garden, cook nutritious meals. I have been studying and am very interested herbal studies and healing.
This sounds amazing and I am very willing to go out of my way to make this thrive! Let me know what I could do!!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been on in awhile, I have been doing ALOT of traveling. Haven't been to the KY place in over a year now, but still keep in contact with them here and there. I may even be there in a few months, actually.
