I don't understand why only some of us have that option.

Maybe Skip thinks everything we've said deserves to be enshrined forever. Yeah. I'm going with that.

Well i’ll admt Dr.Ford, has friends who have horrible memories to corroborate her stories.

But it’s not like there weren’t 4 other judges on that shortlist.

Except the entire point of Kavanaugh as the nominee was to stir everyone up, divide everyone and polarize the voters-- and then show everyone that even against a lot of heavy opposition, Trump wins. And since this is just about Trump showing everyone that he is strong and the Democrats are weak, the GOP HAD to put him through. Even changing the nominee would have been a show of weakness, a sign that the party is in the utter disarray that the news media wants it to be.

It wouldn't surprise me if Trump didn't even understand the long-term repercussions of what he has just done. He definitely doesn't care about them.

The important thing that I saw in the Kavanaugh nomination was described in an online article that I saw today; and, it re-affirmed my Hippy Mind-set. The aforementioned article stated that the Supreme Court is now farther to the right it has ever been, since the crash of 1929 and the Great Depression. The Great Depression resulted after the Hoover Administration's far right wing and Lais Sez Faire economic policies. In the years between 1920 and 1929, the KKK re-organized under the disguise of Conservative Christian Business owners and infiltrated state governments, one after the other, just as the Republican Party had done since the Nixon Administration adopted Charles Colson and Jerry Falwell ideas of silent majority and moral majority. The Lais Sez Faire policies allowed the big banks to do anything they wanted, an to hell with ordinary people. Lais Sez Faire allowed employers to do anything they wanted with workers. Today's Republicans and their Supreme Court picks call it Employment At Will, meaning your Boss can screw you anytime and at will. Economists all over the world, and in accredited universities have always told Lais Sez Faire policies concentrate national wealth in the pockets of the few rich and leave the rest of the population in need, as in need of food, housing, medical care, and education for their children. Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and Brett Kavanaugh have made it clear they don't give a rat's ass about people's needs or school lunch programs.

Actually, the majority of the courts of the world use both direct and circumstantial evidence to convict people. Direct evidence is "stories" by eyewitnesses. Blasey Ford was an eyewitness. The trier of fact must judge her credibility. "In sexual assault cases, the victim’s character, behavior, and credibility may play an especially important role in charging decisions. In these types of case, little physical evidence may be present to connect the suspect to the crime, and typically eyewitnesses who can corroborate the victim’s testimony may not be available. The likelihood of conviction depends primarily on the victim’s ability to articulate what happened and to convince a judge or jury that a sexual assault occurred. Thus, prosecutors’ assessments of convictability and their charging decisions rest on predictions regarding the way the victim’s background, character, and behavior may be interpreted and evaluated by other decision makers and potential jurors." https://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/nij/199720.pdf People go to prison on the basis of uncorroborated victim testimony. Not shocked. Roy Moore's accuser seemed to get over it pretty quickly as well.

Yeah. Didn't Roy drop those defamation charges he was threatening--pretty quickly! I think Blasey Ford and her lawyers concluded that getting anywhere in the legal system is futile. You say you're a sexual abuse survivor. I guess you decided not to try to pursue it through the courts. Was that because it never happened?

I saw that more as shut up Republicans are talking.

However I will play devil’s advocate here; as I am curious of the pictures of these 2 men that came forward last minute to take blame for Dr.Ford’s assault.

Those are people I want interviewed as well.

I only do this because it is true that mistaken ID of alleged rapists have been falsely accused and sent to jail only to be exonerated; some due to the innocence project.

As a debater I’m not willing to open myself up to hypocritical attacks on that position about the credibility of eyewitnesses.

But what irks me most is the seal of what the FBI did investigate. Why they didn’t go to seek out more witnesses. I want the stories of how lower ranking agents had their hands tied or not tied if it is true they weren’t restricted in their investigation.

    Facts must be known.
