Just some thoughts on racism

sorry, I didn't mean to kill the thread. I just wanted to make some people understand.

 

People often forget when say that is that networks like NBC, CBS, and ABC try to reach a "mainstream" (read: white) audience. And actually, the current owners of BET are white.

Also, lucy, in the movie "Bringing Down the House" (which I haven't seen) has Steve Martin actin' "black."

 

I'm really glad you did....people can be pretty clueless.

I remember a skit on SNL a long time ago where black people put on makeup to look white and everything was different, for instance when the last black person got off the bus, all the white people started drinking champagne..and the newspaper guy gave the "white" eddie murphy the paper for free etc.

Maybe everyone should be required to experience life as a minority to raise their awareness of how ingrained the problem can be.

Still, the starter of this thread is a dumbass.

 

It is sad that racism still exists and affects people daily - not just black people, but white people, people of all backgrounds and cultures are victims of racism. It will take continued efforts in educating the ignorant and forgiveness from everyone of all races and nationalities world abroad to eliminate this problem. Forgiveness to me is the key, to not hate a particular race because of the actions of individuals in that race were wrong. I am me, and I happen to be white, and anyone who hates me for that sole reason is only contributing to the problem. This is the case for every individal - no matter what their race, nationality, sexual preference, religion, sex......you name it.

No it wouldn't, if the movie was called " Sister girl". you are probably too young to remember but in the 80's there was a movie called "Soul Man" about a white guy dressing up as a black guy to get a minority scholarship to Harvard.

That movie sucked

People need to realise that just because whites make more money, doesn't mean they are smarter. It has to do with opportunity, not capability.

ummm some of u read this with the ignorance that you jump on others about. i knew this would happen. its not just about oportunity and ummm whites as a whole are smarter than blacks and blacks are better atheletes it starts from the very begining. the europeans and asians were way more advanced than africa by far in the way of technology and there technology made things easier the blacks were not as fortunate at the time and had to do stuff in a way that was harder keeping there body overall better. so we get to now and as a whole whites are smarter, not all i mean i know PLENTY of blacks that are way smarter than me but i also know from one of my teachers over 70% of the kids that failed in my class were black. i also know we dont have one white kid on our football teams defense. bill cosby even agrees with me and guess what OMFG HE IS BLACK TOO. guess who is the ones pointing out racism...you sheltered white people who got nothing better to do.

 

And geography had nothing to do with it, who came into contact with who and when............



You are a racist, and if Bill Cosby thinks any race is inherently smarter than another then he is too.

 

Bill Cosby doesn't think one race is smarter than other. He's upset because he thinks blacks haven't done enough to help themselves.

geography had nothing to do with it...wtf are u thinking dude they still live in shambles and we have things called houses, and cars that can drive at nice speeds, and rodes, and skyscrapers. while area's of africa are advanced alot are left way behind. if they were as smart dont you think they would be able to live in a better state? they are the richest country there is and they are dieing off like termites in a house that has been treated. but then again they own our sports. hey i said some sorta edgy stuff on whites its funny how no one has pointed out what i said wrong about them. ty for proving me correct.

 

stiffbullsnuts - what is the point in trying to prove you right or wrong? your generalizations make you a racist - period. Until one is able to look at a person as an individual, not in the context of color, religion, sexual preference...you name it, that person is ignorant and a biggot. You still seem to SEE color, whereas those who are less ignorant SEE people.

 

Bill Cosby is picking on people who didn't do what he feels he did. The first thing that he will say is that he grew up poor. The SECOND he will say is that his mom worked two jobs and read to him all the time.


That's the thing, everybody has a different set of hard knocks. Some people grow up with money and their parents don't give a damn. Some people have dirt poor parents determined to raise good people.
