Just Got My Windows Tinted...

well in america we have to worry about other drivers seeing what business happens in our cars because trouble comes from not being smart. An old dealer of mine conducted all his business in his car, he would come pick you up and drive around while you did the deal and then drop you off a little ways from where he picked you up.

I swear i almost went insane in my buddies 01 explorer, if u guys are familiar with the car it has a little 2 person back seat in it with no windows for the 2 ppl in the back, we were driving around 1 night pretty drunk and i thought i was gonna KILL somone, i could not see a thing out the windows around me and had no way to look out

 

tint makes a car look so much better, but it's a BITCH if you've gotta back out in the dark cuz you cant see shit. cops around here dont give a shit how dark your shit is, but if you get pulled over for like speeding, just roll em down so they can't tack on some extra $$.

I hate cutains unless glare is making my computer screen unviewable, or im naked and the window like faces the street or another window where people are. i usually have my blinds completely open, as well as my window open.
but tinted side windows arent usually for glare purposes, since the bad glare is the stuff that comes in the front windscreen.

id rather get screens to pin up if i leave my car in a hot place to keep it from getting too hot, and wear sunglasses if theres glare. that way theres direct controlability and purpose.

 

my main reason for tint is to protect valuables inside.

 

like what? your cd player? i think tinting your windows makes your car more susceptable to having people trying to see wahts in your car, and you cant hide a cd player from view unless like the windows were so tinted that next to no light gets in

 

Tint is just a privacy thing, it doesn't matter whether you actualy would lack the privacy without it, with it you know you'll have it.

 

privacy is so overrated, it assumes people want to actually know what your doing, and also that those people will then adversely affect your life.
got something valuable? but it in the glove box or under the seat.

That's the thing, most likely no one cares, but with the tint, you are assured they can't find out on the rare occasion someone might. Also it is useful for keeping overly bright light out, like when the sun is going down to either side of you, that can be quite annoying.

 

Once I can roll down my windows pulling out of a place shouldn't be too bad. I can pull out of my driveway fine, pull out of a parking spot fine. I'm in no danger of pulling out in front of a car, because as long as there is light outside I can see something coming. Only issue is when it's totally dark outside in the boonies or something.

Also I gotta agree with the protecting valuables. I have an expensive radio (there are numerous breakin's in my school's parking lot), huge cd case full of all of my cd's, an ipod, ipod equipment, and my glasses all in my car. Whenever I get out of my car if I'm going to be out of it for more than 10 minutes I lock up the Radio's faceplace and my ipod in my glove compartment. But that still leaves hundreds of dollars of stuff just laying around in my car so the tint helps alot with that. And my windows are so dark that you can't see inside unless you put your face up to the window and cup your hands around your eyes.

 

yea, it's more than having a cd player to hide.

i can throw my 300$ jacket, cd case, clothing etc. into the back seats without having to worry that some crack head will walk by and glance in at my shit.

and depending on how much u can get it for, tint improves the look of the car drastically. i can get my tint done, 5 windows for 120$

haha, i don't know about security value. it's really easy to see through during the day, or at least get a good idea. get a really good alarm system with a proven pager system. if anything, lock stuff lke an ipod, etc in the trunk.

as for privacy, well let me put it this way. ever had sex in the backseat of a car with no tint?

and when you want to hit that pipe during your lunch break, would you want to let everyone know that you're doing something illegal in your car? maybe wave a couple of cops over and see if they want to join? no, you wouldnt.

 

i see some of the points, but its not something i find at all necessary.

tinted windows have thier ups and downs. A little bit can be nice, but too much makes you stick out even more and makes driving a bit more dangerous.

I don't have my windows tinted and I have a "support the local police" sticker I paid for to throw them off. It works really good actually. I don't get fucked with a lot as a contributing member to society.

BTW dude, I hope you appreciate that car. Not that I think you aren't a cool guy, but I get irritated when I see kids spoiled by mommy and daddy. Have fun with it, but keep it nice. I would kill to have a nice car.
