just found out my dog has heartworms :(

    Good luck - if it's a light case/low positive, treating with heartgard only (killing the larvae, preventing reinfestation and allowing the adults to die off of old age) can be very effective and safe.

    HW can be scary - a lot of dogs get it and live a long time, but many DON'T. HW preventative is cheap at the cost!
