Got some prescription meds at Walmart today together with some ciggs. Gots me a giftcard... needed to use it. They did rip me off on the meds though... had to pay 120$ for 'em and that's with insurance... That's half the money I make per week. Damn you Walmart, damn you to hell in a basket of grapes!
I got to agree with 121 here, with all the fucked up shit in this world we put in our bodies....I feel we are all pre programmed from the start. Look at our elders and such and there time on this earth. Ive know all types, smokers, non-smokers, heavy users, light usres...and its a toss up on who lives the longest. Its good to eat right but anyone who does any drugs to excess or drinks to excess does far worse than anything they eat. Its good to have a cause, but try this, buy a bio-friendly car....it still uses rubber tires, brake pads, all the wear items most cars use. Ride a house....horse needs shoes made from iron that takes a process that puts bad things in our air, where do we stop or where do we start? Life is the biggest paradox of all. But its all good, but just remember when the world goes to hell its the ones with the gold, guns and fast cars that will run the game, not the ones picking through the veggies at the health food store.
I'm not talking about environmental issues here...I'm talking about what we put in our bodies and why I believe we should have everything labelled correctly...and why pesticides are bad...leave the environmental issues in another thread...because I didn't even bring it up in here.
I admire your spirit Dancer Annie. Hell I'll try veggie food next week (your bad) Edit.. but then homos eat vegetables.. help me out peacekeeper you asshole. God damnit we have too much in common
I had someone once tell me...if you want to start a revolution...start with your stomach...and as I begin to eat more and more healthy and learn more and more about what we put into our bodies...I really believe it.
Things that are good for you or good for the envionment are often more expensive than things that are not. Example: You can get a burger for 99cents at the Mc Donald's inside of the Wal-Mart (not that I would) or you can buy an organic salad elsewhere for dollars more. Secondly: A hyrid car costs more than a regular gas guzzling vehicle that gets 10 mpg or less. This is just the way that the world works right now. Monopolies and Oligopolies (sp?) exist everywhere and the companies like Wal-Mart are doing their level best to put the mom and pop stores out of business so they can make billions of dollars selling all that junk from China. Of course we don't need to just sit back and accept it. The more people wake up and realize how messed up things are, the more we can change the way things run. It is my hope that the capitalist system is turned on its head and CEO's start to realize it's better for their employees to have health care than for them to own an island in the Caribbean.
Ah Amy how I have missed you! Annie I knew that would happen with the produce eventually. I don't have the money to buy organic so I just grow my own. One of the great things about living beside and working for a greenhouse.
Yeah growing your own veggies is great. We have fresh lettuce and other greens growing in our garden now that we use for salads. During the summer we have tons of fresh tomatoes and other stuff. And I know for a fact the food is safe to eat because we don't use pesticides.
As if I needed another reason...lol.I haven't shopped at Wal-mart since I was in middle school. It's a disgusting establishment with poor quality items. Also, they really exploit and mistreat their workers. My sister is in the union and I was reading her local 1360 newsletter which contained all of this documented information about Wal-mart being a company that doesn't respect their workers.

I have always disliked walmart and just recently started HATING walmart with a passion. Sadly, a couple times a year I will still go there- only when money is so low and you gotta eat... all that price stuff... i try to avoid though and plan on doing so in the future. i also try to eat organic when i can but sometimes price gets in the way, othertimes its not so much a factor. and im not surprized at the article.
