i love my summer job....i work with kids at a sports camp...maybe i'll end up in that field somehow...its pretty much my hobby to read things on training and such and how to get fat ass kids moving again - while getting them to eat right and tell their parents no more KFC/Mickey D's/BK/etc for all meals of the day

Thank you!!! I am so freaking excited. I'm happy too because all six of my schools are in a 15 mile radius so no ridiculous driving like my last position. I've been unemployed so long I would start tommorow if I could...I am bored but can't go out of town or do anything cool because I have class. I was a professional vacationer before school started and was digging not working.

How did your mom like it?

She loves working with the kids, she hates the school district. (Second highest drop out rate in the state... and I think the states #1 in the country.)

boy I hope you don't call them "fat ass" to their face because I would fucking maim anyone who pulled that shit on me, especially if I had gone to them for help (as in going ot a camp to lose weight but getting called names alongside)

I'm a student with no job. I want to be a professor, but I rather imagine I'll take my time getting there (ie work for a few years, go back to school, work some more, go back to school). In ten years I will likely be in front of a computer :D

oh no...i don't say that to the kids...

i was trying to make a point abotu the parents...i've torn into parents before, and i hold nothing back against them. these parents feed the kids fast food at least twice a day - breakfast and lunch. these are the kid meals either, they're the "adult servings" - luckily, we restrict soda at camp.

these kids aren't just big kids...these are the kids who are morbidly obese at age of 10-12 because of the food there parents give them and provide them

my current job is sitting on my ass and cleaning up after my wife who won't let me get enough sleep at the right times i would need to to get or keep a real job, so i don't expect ever to be able to get another one as long as i have to live with her, and of course i'm dependent on her for a lawful place to sleep as long as the country we live in is the way it currently is.

yah, i'd MUCH rather be living by myself out in the boonies somewhere, working for a living, as long as it wasn't doing anything that would contribute to the screwing up of the kind of world i'd rather be living in.

ten years? i'll probably be planted in the ground, that or still sitting here or someplace simular, doing pretty much the same thing as i am now. just like i have for the past ten.

i have done some semi-interesting things in the past however. driller's helper on a mineral core exploration drill out in the nevada desert. opperating truck mounted cranes and back hoes, big ones, for a railroad. that was the one really close to decent paying one i've ever had. sorting silica rock as it went by on a belt on part of what had been a big doodle bug dredge, to be made into the abrasive in toothpaste, from the hydraulic mine tailings where i used to live. repairing radar jamming transmitters when i was in the air force, which was how i got out of being sent to nam in the late 60s. a lot of restaurant dishwashing, backup and prep kitchen jobs in restaurants, the real kind of restaurants that had real plates to eat off of. oh i even did that in a ski lodge up on donner summit for a few months. that was my first paying job, even before the air force.

did some freelance architectural, industrial and landscape photography, waaay back when, before we even had personal computers too. haven't had the equipment to do that for ages though and don't ever really expect to again either.

another one i almost forgot to mention was working in the coin room of harrah's casino in reno nevada, back in the early 70s. collecting the slot take. weight counting it. running it through the roll wrapping machines and stock piling the rolls of coins.

yah, i've done a couple of odd interesting things. been a while. too damd long of a while. but i get by. and make pichers on this here computer to keep myself amused, that and bs'ing on the net like i'm doing now.

Right now I keep on bouncing back and forth from job to job. Some in factories, some for independant contracters. It's hard to find a steady job while I'm in school, but this is my last semester so things should look up.

I'm almost done with an associates in Industrial Maintenance, but I don't know what I'm going to end up doing. I think I'll use maintenance to make the money I need to do what I want to do. It doesn't really matter to me what I do, as long as I can get off work to travel and see the things that I want to see.

At my most recent job, they had this guy come in with an infa-red camera and scan all of the electrical cabinets in the factory. He could tell even the slightest temp. difference in the connections. Some of the hot spots were just loose connections, or an overloaded circuit. We used his report to fix some of the hidden electrical problems. He made around $5,000 in the two days it took him to scan the plant. Thats what I want to do, but the cameras can get up to 70 grand or more.

I got a chance to talk to him for a while, and he does a lot more than just electrical stuff. He went to Sea World and scanned a dolphin that was sick. The people at Sea World couldn't figure out what was wrong with him, but the camera picked up the friction of a tooth coming in crooked, rubbing against another tooth. He travels all over the country to take pictures of shit with his super dooper camera and makes anywhere from $1,000 to 20,000 a pop.......Yeah, thats what I want to do.

In ten years, I'll either be broke, drunk, and playing my guitar in the street or finding some kind of work to take me from country to country.

    security guard, bouncer

10 years from now, God willing, mixed martial arts fighter.

Train with Ceasar Gracie or at AKA, with experienced fighters, do it moving. Step my game up every year. Fight by 3rd year and hopefully destroy my opponent. If I get killed, at least I have that Bachelors in Science in Media Arts and Animation.

Why do you see yourself dead in ten years BraveSirRubin?

I want to be in a job that I will always enjoy. That is why I want to get into animal care once I leave high school. At the moment, I am working as a waitress at a market, lovely environment, great slushy drinks too.

i don't know where you get that idea, the tunes and people who call in to talk to while you're off mike and the tunes are playing yah, but the broadcasters i know/know of/listen to, do it as volunteers who have to do other things for a living. i doubt very much you'd get to pick your format or what to play if you were at a station that paid you anything at all, whereas on the other hand, in the places where you could have a really signifigant degree of freedom in doing so, are again not likely to be able to pay you much if anything.

same goes for really good writers too.
