I'll go as far as to say that there was never any "Jesus". Jesus "the Son of God" is really allegory for the sun (the SUN of God). You see, all the religions can be traced back to the ancient Babylonian sun religions. Christianity is just a re-write of the sun religions of Sumerian and Babylonian times and is written allegorically. It's not meant to be taken literally as Christians believe it to be.

It could be-- it's exactly what we make of it. We usually create a hell in one form or another. My thinking is that each individual has something to accomplish... a critical realization or some important responsibility to fulfill and will return again and again until the job is complete... then we move on.

Why do we celebrate Christmas on December 25th? Does anyone know?? Because on the three days leading up to that date, the SUN is at the lowest point in the sky. On the 25th, the sun begins to rise again, and hence he has risen -- the rebirth of Jesus Christ.

The Bible is all allegory. It's nothing more than a re-write of the ancient pagan religions centered around solar and celestial worship.

The only way to solve this problem concerning Jesus is to ask him.

Let’s clone some cells from the Shroud of Turin (an old idea) and create Jesus Park where christians can visit and converse with their savior(s) [IMG]

This is true, once you master a game, there is no need to play it anymore.

The two fish represent the constellation Pisces. It represents the Age of Pisces, which is the age we are living in now. That's why the pope wears one of those Mitres that looks like a fish. Again, it's all allegory. The Christian age is the Age of Pisces, hence the fish symbolism.

We are now beginning to leave the age of Pisces and are entering the age of Aquarius.

What secular evidence outside the bible mentions Jesus.

I'd like to point out that the first gospel of Paul written of the new testament was written after the destruction of the temple of jerusalem, by someone who had never claimed to have met Jesus, and this would have been at least 50 years after the death of Jesus.

What historical evidence affirms an actual flesh and blood man in the nasarene named Jesus who was tied as a heretic? Show me.

Which feels more real? When something super awesome happens it almost seems like time stands still.... like this couldn't possibly be happening.

When you watch your grandmother get hit by a bus(no this didn't happen to me), you know what the fuck just happened was real. And that kind of shit doesn't go away. The feeling you get from a promotion, love etc, fades and becomes normal again. That's called excitement.

But pain is as real as it gets, is it not? Pain can make you cry far easier than happiness. I've said it before and I'll say it again and again: People cry not from pain, anger, or happiness, but from their minds inability to handle and process the overwhelming amounts of brain activity caused by those things.

Think about this: In the last 6 months how many times have you cried over something nice that was said to you? How many times have you cried over something mean spirited or hurtful?

If you can tell me the first is more than the second, you are truly more blessed than any person I know in "real life"**

** I just wanted to note, yet again, how badly I hate that differentiation.

    Thank you.

Maybe... maybe not. It's not for us to know for sure. Deeds wouldn't be genuine if we knew the end game for sure.

Didn't we only get one shot at that paradise? After that we were cast out, much like the rebel angels. Where did they go for pissing God off? Where did we go then?

There is no fucking up heaven. It's eternal bliss and even a crew of renegade angels couldn't combine to overthrough God. If he can handle angels, I think he can handle humans.

We are moving into the age of Aquarius. We are really at the end of the age of Pisces and will be entering into the age of Aquarius around 2150, since one zodiacal period lasts approximately 2,150 years. The age of Pisces (the Christian age) is believed to have begun around 1 AD. The age that preceded the age of Pisces was the age of Aires, which was the ram. That's why Jews blow the ram's horn in religious ceremonies.

Every "age" conincides with its own religion, and we can already see the "new" religion for the "New Age" beginning to emerge, which will be a form of earth or "Gaia" worship, based on pre-Christian pantheism. So, like Christianity, it will be based on a very OLD religion, as all the relgions are re-writes of the much older religions.

Hey, I gots you, as it should be called Paulism at any rate. But things of this magnitude don't usually arise out of thin air, and even if you dismiss Josephus, you still have the gospels of Mary and Thomas.

well, you were talking about your spiritual theories, and you believe at some point, we move on. of course you don't know anything for sure, but I'm interested in theories. I like the idea of a higher consciousness, and I like to think that we are here to enjoy ourselves.

I disagree with the brain activity part as stimulants can provide more activity to the parts of the brain which respond to terror or sadness, dopamine and such, but without the psychological perspective you won't cry.

I'm also the opposite. I never cry out of sadness. Not in years. I lost a few tears out of hapiness a week ago. I was crying like a baby at my sisters wedding in June.

but that answer assumes christianity is correct, and existance can all be explained by the bible. that doesn't work for me.

my question is, what if our existance on earth is supposed to be "heaven", "nirvana," whatever, basically just a good time. but because of our flawed nature, we're screwing it all up.
