i just posted it in another thread today but i'll say it again....I have a Native Worship CD by the band Broken Walls..they are Christian Mohawk Indians...and before they start thier drumming circle the leader shouts "I've heard it said that the church is the cemetary of the arts. The church was meant to be the sanctuary of the arts! Amen?"

some people think dancing is against God...but even babies sway to the beats so obviously we are born to dance. Some think that drums in the church are against God...and electric guitars!! how silly! These instruments can be used for His Glory. And why not ROCK IT? GOd deserves the best RocK we can pump out.

 

I know that baptists think things like rock (well any music besides hymns) and dancing are a sin. The school and church I went to was adamantly against those things. I think such strict rules probably doesn't help them win souls for chirst, which is their stated mission. But they see it as they dont want to become more "worldly" to win souls.

 

That's not the tune he was singing back in the early days of Rock n Roll.

he stood up to the worst empire in history and won!! I don't think there has been any revolution quite like his ever and he did it all piecefully and lovingly....now I'm not going to touch on whether or not he's the son of god or a divine incarnation because his acts as a revolutionary are enough to impress me

Degrading remarks against Christians includes me. It's not just about disagreeing here. It's about belittling us and everything we hold dear. If it was simply about disagreeing, we would all be over it by now and chatting about other things.

So how can i not take it personally? And all these threads started by you and lib are full of hatred. Maybe not hatred against me in particular, but i am a Christian too and i take offence.

I think its the view of us and them that causes hatred and wars and violence and what not.....once we see its only us, then I think things will straighten out on many levels
