im with beautiful days on this one i think.. the guy has a great voice and there is no denying his musical talent but his songs just dont go anywhere or do anything interesting, the excpetion being lover you should have come over, which is why its everyones favourite jeff buckley song. i admire him as a musician but to listen to him next to other acoustic artists like tom mcrae for instance, his music just doesn't hold up...
well thats my oppinion

I'm listening to Jeff now... Some acoustic stuff etc.. I do think he was a rare talent indeed. Great atmosphere to his songs and such an original and interesting voice!

(and he was a Zeppelin fan too )

 

having re read this thread i am scared and shocked that there are people/a person out there that likes springsteen, i thought he was just a novelty artist that appeared on the 'timelife' ads! whoa, u learn somethin new every day huh!

I like his voice, and he was a pretty good guitarist. I get headaches just trying to read the tab for Hallelujah (sp?)

But seriously, I know we all like what we like and we all have our own quirky tastes but ther really is no need for springsteen at all, if you want guitar rock type stuff there are many more examples out there of similar music thats just......well, better.

PM 'Soul Rebel' & i'm sure he could give anyone at least a dozen alternatives to springsteen (he seems to have an almost encyclopedic knowledge of artists & song titles) & could be able to save your souls yet, before you sell them to the devil (springsteen)

yea they should, its a great album well worth a listen.


also i recommend his live dvd (forgotten the title tho i own it and it has a grey cover, maybe someone cn help me out). even if you dont like the music you cant fail to be impressed by his vocal range and his ability to construct a song. The boy can play a bit too!!
