Lemme just keep rampaging about nuclear physics and nuclear power, our only, only alternative to other fossil fuels to produce mass amounts of energy, which I don't know about, using the mass media which I constantly complain about.

Where do you suppose all this contaminated sea water is going to end up?

Maybe Themadcapsyd can take it, seeing as it's so fucking safe!

Oh, it's evaporating into the atmosphere, never mind madcap, we ALL get some.

I don't know about you Relaxxx, but (from CNN's views) I'm moving to San Francisco...

It's organis things to worry about, not salt, according to Chernobyl's experience. This ends my daily broadcast.

Even if you make the plants safe to operate, there's the waste problem which will lead to higher cancer rates unless the government can be completely trusted to isolate it for 10,000 years. I don't trust the government that much.

So the most recent explosion at unit #3 has released PLUTONIUM folks! This is not only much more dangerous, but it means the reactor core is much more likely to meltdown as plutonium is more difficult to control in such a situation.

And yes all the contaminated sea water is going right back into the sea, to pollute Japan's rich fishing grounds with radiation.

This is looking more like Hiroshima in slow motion every day it continues...

Read this for more info about the actual dangers...
    http://www.bellona.org/articles/articles_2011/mox_reactor_coolant_loss

The radiation around the stricken plant is increasing again, last measured at 1,204 microsieverts per hour, and is already twice Japan's legal limit.

Madcapsyd, I suggest you take YOUR B.S. To a pro-nuclear power site. I for one have had enough of your B.S.
Yes, that's why the US had to move it's rescue fleet away from the radiation zone.

One more disinformation post like this and you're gone.

um, no it's not ...... the earth as a home for life as we know it is a temporary state

but it's impossible to destroy something, you can only change it's form.. the earth is permanent, it just won't always be a little blue and green ellipticle orb :sunny:

So indeed, earth as a system, will cease to exist.

As sophisticated as our information gathering system has become, it is not possible in real time considering the conditions, to transmit information half way around the world, instantaneously with historic accuracy, even without
the inclination of certain parties to distort information for their own purposes.
It is likely to take a bit longer to accurately assess the situation.

It was said on PBS yesterday that the pacific northwest is capable of producing a 9.0 quake and that we're years overdue. I've never seen anything like this since pictures of the A bombs dropped in '45. Horrifying. Where in hell are those million of tons of detritus going to be put? Where even to start?.

Anyone else want to be banned? Just post off-topic or nuclear industry propaganda and you will. And anyone discussing bannings will likewise be banned.

B'but, but....You CAN absorb the radioactive sea water into certain types of soil. That sort of activity as been applied in Belurus.

How does it happen that we should all be living on and on... and ON.:)

UPDATE: Reactor Unit #2 has now completely exposed the radioactive rods containing uranium and plutonium. All the water is gone. Attempts are being made to get more water to cover the rods. They are saying the #2 reactor situation is worse than the others. So now that's three reactors at the same site undergoing various levels of meltdown.

Hopefully the reactor core containment will keep the radioactivity inside, but there are no guarantees.
