They would be just as racist to Jews as Jews were to them. Probably with interest, as this has gone on now for generations. And it would NOT be a democracy. No religious state ever can be. x
It sounds like you have come up with a real neat and tidy solution. Let's replace the Israel, the only non muslim nation in the region, among nearly 1 billion Muslims, with another Muslim dominated government where we expect them to treat the Jews worse than they themselves have been treated. Sounds like heaven... You say that religion has to be left out of the equation. Jews and Muslims treated as equals. In Which Muslim dominated society, other that Turkey (which has it's own notably brutal history) does religion not play a key role in how the country is run? If your goal is to run all Jews out of Israel, the one state solution will surely accomplish this goal.
Don't twist what I say. I said ONE Israel, for ALL who inhabit it. Its got nothing to do with Jews or Muslims or anybody else, unless you make it so. The coming war will bring the needed equalization. I say this with no bias whatsoever. This is the way things work in this world. Water finds it's own level. x
ONE Israel, for ALL who inhabit it? In reality, what that means is the only ones inhabiting it will be Muslims and the Jews that now inhabit it will either be dead or will have seek refuge somewhere else. This is the way things work in this world. And you say this with no bias whatsoever, yeah right.
I'm not sure why, as outsiders, we fight amongst ourselves about how many were killed, we concern ourselves with whom the targets were, and at which time of day attacks occurred under which moon. The propaganda from both sides, in my view, is not worth continued onslaught. The same applies to certain discussions on the internet and forums like this. Nationalistic/religious violence has a tendency to pit people against one another, and it often forces outsiders such as ourselves as Hip Members to pick sides. So which side are you on? If we're going to talk about war and the justifications for fighting like we have been in this thread, which side are you on?
But, the Israel pullout was only in 2005. It was a shocker to everyone and there are violent documentaries on Israelis evacuating their settlements, leaving their homes. Sharon displaced 10,000 people in an attempt to reconcile with Palestinians and as an elder, we know that in his last attempts at resolving the conflict between the two states he meant to institute and bring peace to the region. But yeah, like you said earlier. The Hamas were elected as some kind of guerrilla biker party with a few old school Robespierre style Jacobin revolutionaries. Ugh. (Why'd I use the word "guerrilla"?) Honestly, the Palestinian state has a better chance of peace and success if Hamas groups were not elected and passed off as politicians. I mean, Matt, you have to agree at least that fudging elections like that is an insult to the very people in it who embrace a free state with representative democracy. It's kind of as if the Palestinians "elected" Bush, twice. Kind of difficult to support that kind of government from your neighbouring state.
I think he summed up the situation pretty well... "The assault on Gaza offers the best hope of peace." "There is no excuse for the loss of life, but Israel is right to seek the destruction of Hamas", says Con Coughlin. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/...ssault-on-Gaza-is-the-best-hope-of-peace.html
Xenon...sounds a lot like your line of thinking. "Fairness is all too frequently absent in a debate that has been hijacked by extremists. Israel faces an intensified campaign of delegitimisation, demonisation and double standards. Britain has become a hotbed for radical anti-Israeli views and a haven for disingenuous calls for a "one-state solution", a euphemistic name for a movement advocating Israel's destruction. Those who propagate this notion distort Israel's past while categorically denying Israel's right to exist as a liberal Jewish-democratic state. No other country in the world is constantly forced to justify its own existence." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/...in-is-a-hotbed-of-anti-Israeli-sentiment.html
Israel is racist apartheid state. Fact. Zionism makes it that way. It has a decades long record of human rights abuses. Because of this vile philosophy. Israel has no right to exist as it is. Fact. No nation can act with such aggression and expect to survive. Withous US assistance, it would collapse. It needs to. The world will eventually have it's way with Israel. Fact. You're outnumbered. My advice to the people of Israel is if you want a future at all, you better jettison the zionist power structure or you're all going to die for them. Not Judaism. Not Israel. You're going to die in the name of radical zionism. In the same way your indifference to them is causing people you never met to die at their hands, in your name. No Jewish state either. Religious states DO NOT WORK. x
I just thought I'd mention that the missile in your picture seems to be photoshoped. Also the two pictures together seem to imply before and after photographs but the second photo shows a person with a green long sleeve shirt and in the first photo no one is wearing one. There is also a palm tree in the second photo that is not in the first photo. That's not to say something like this didn't happen, it's just your pictures don't seem to show it.
Let's do a simple Google image search, shall we? News, Gaza As you wade through the pages of images, make sure you remember who's paying for it. The citizens of the United States. Guess who's gonna pay for it? The citizens of the United States. No more wars for Israel. No more American lives lost. No more money either. http://images.google.com/images?gbv=1&hl=en&safe=off&q=news,+gaza&start=0&sa=N x
AIPAC is doing it's usual song and dance. Many words about the 4 dead Israelis. No mention of the hundreds of dead Palestinians. You know, the one's THEY killed. http://www.aipac.org/ x
I think the second photo is framed slightly to the right and higher than the first one. I can see the matching palm (behind the boy in the yellow and green shirt) and a smaller tree to the right of the palm. It was probably taken a few seconds later when the crowd of kids in the first frame had run past and a new kid ran into the frame. What Xexon doesn't want to do is reveal the source he actually got it from, because it is probably an aryan nations type place that he would read but is too much of a coward to link to.
I posted the google images search. That's where I found it. As for Aryan Nations, I have nothing to do with racists. I may cruise their websites in search of information but thats only because the regular media won't touch the issues they do. Like zionism infiltrating the goverment of the United States. I've been watching the evening news before most people on this forum were born. I have yet to see any mention of it. You may see some of the sites as offensive. So do I, but it doesn't mean I can't shake them for bits and pieces of information. I don't have to subscribe to their philosophy. I find such sites to be less offensive than the regular media outlets like Fox News, which has parroted the Bush view all along. That's offensive. x
Interesting intelectual point here: is Causius Belli scaleable? Does Israel have Causius Belli ? Good Question, Gaza seems to be a crowded place. Back to my question: Why would Hamas provoke a counterattack on to such crowded a homeland? Surely they knew what they were provoking and went ahead and did it anyway! Since 2005 Hamas has fired some 6,300 missles at Israeli civilians killing 10 and wounding 780. Since the end of the truce December 19th Hamas has fired some 300 missles rockets and mortar rounds. I read much about a blockade of Gaza, seems these munitions made it past the blocade. and Finally: well Ratt I'm glad to see that you are back. I remember well your point about 9/11. About how The Bilderburgers aquiesed or even were complicit in the attacks on America as a way to galvanize public support for war and to consolidate more power and wealth. How those office workers in The World Trade Center were sacrificed as cannon fodder for the avarice and greed of the Bilderburgers. How Bush, Cheney and those eletes were guilty of the murders of those office workers by cynically allowing the 9-1-1 attack to happen. Can you see the same mechanism you spelled out working here? Hamas dropped the cease fire only two weeks ago! Why? ......................... To galvanize support for the Palistinian cause. The poor civilians in Gaza are dying in order to provide photographs and film clips for recruitmant of jihad worldwide.
Olmert issues last-minute warning to Hamas (0) 25.December 2008, 16:10 Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert issued a "last-minute" appeal to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to reject their Hamas rulers and stop rocket fire at Israel, warning them he would not hesitate to use force. His comments were a clear indication that Israel may launch a Gaza offensive which could result in heavy casualties on both sides and fuel a humanitarian crisis. http://www.welt.de/english-news/article2930793/Olmert-issues-last-minute-warning-to-Hamas.html
what do you suppose the u.s. would do if a terror organization set up shop in northern Mexico and started lobbing rockets into Brownsville, TX ? Do you think that we would exercise restraint? Just another example of US arrogance! How dare we "urge" Israel to exercise restraint!!
