it is now pouring rain on top of the couple cm's of snow....dog near wiped out running back inside the house from those winds....my stoop is an ice sheet and he diid a controlled skid into the living room.....maybe an uncontrolled skid

buddy brought me over the thickest plastic to cover some windows....thickest i have ever seen.....way thicker than the crappy stuff i had bought.......tomorrow i will cover some of the weak spots

You have no idea.
I lived in apartments for all my life minus 2 years when I lived with my mom when I was 30-31.
I can call a landlord or a superindendant with the best of them...but learning how to live in a fixer upper when I don't have the skills or money to fix up like is needed, that is all new to me and am learning as I go.

It's warm enough that it looks like it rained. The water is pouring off my porch roof like it is a downpour but there isn't a drop anywhere else.

I need to have this house re-wired. I know I do. I've even accepted it. I know that will involve getting a contractor because they will have to BURST open the walls (which are quite thick! and then have a sheetrock person come in and fix that...plus there's painting, etc etc etc. This list can go on and on. There really are 2 levels of house here, with the box downstairs, and I have no intention of staying out of this house - which is what I'm told I'll have to do - while the re-wiring is going on.

The cats and I will live in one or 2 rooms. But I know it'll be an enormous deal. It probably needs to be re-plumbed...

The fence around the back (the back fence) is as old (or older) than me. lol It's still there, though.

The outside cats, Princess and Gimli, have now become inside/outside cats....where they come in and lay on their beds in kitchen floor when its time to go to sleep (or when they want to).

I can't let 'em freeze if we have another cold spell.

 

You can't just wait for a windy day before you do the leaves like I do?

When I want to pick up the leaves I use the lawnmower with the bag connected to it.

 

We got rain last night on top of the snow. I went out to shovel this morning and it was the heaviest inch of snow that I've ever had to deal with haha. It left the driveway really slick after, so I used up the rest of the de-icer stuff on it. and I just heard the plow go by, so I will have to go back out at some point and clear the heavy shit from the end of the driveway.

 

I don't have a bookmark for this site, because I don't want my wife to be using my computer and end up here and see the gross posts and think I'm a sexual predator.

 

Was at the store grabbed a couple things, hands were full but I had 3 free fingers so on the way to the register I grabbed a bag of chips with 2 of my free fingers. That knocked over the bag next to it. (It fell forward but was leaning against the stuff I was holding...the shelf was completely full except for the one I took)
I pushed it back up so it was standing up but it fell forward. I tried again and then it was clear that the bag was front heavy and I couldn't fix it with all the stuff in my hands. And I wasn't putting it all down to fix the bag. And wasn't letting the bag fall so with my last free finger grabbed the bag and ended up buying an extra bag of chips.

 

remember when I said my power never goes out....been without power since 11 last night and it just came back on......

i haven't had any problems with power going out here, other than for 10 minutes or so one time in the middle of the day with good weather. not sure what happened there.

it was never a problem in burlington either - all of the wires in my parents' neighbourhood are buried, so storms don't take anything down. the only time our power was really out was when it went down all across north america a decade or so ago, and we were the first area to get power back that time too.

 

it was so hot that week too

ive forgotten a few days....I had nothing to do while I was waiting so this morning I cleaned up some.....


I have 3c here atm...going up to a balmy 4...that's when I will head outside into mucktown....I have to rig some wire fencing so the hawk cant swoop on the hens again...I really do not want to off this bird.....but.....
