    This ruling is not a step, anywhere.

    It merely maintains the status-quo.

    All consttutionalist knew what the outcome would be. It's a well established precedent.

    With the major steps bush is taking us backwards.... im really afraid of the three years he has left... first he signs some bullshit to open up untouched forests..... and now.... he takes away peoples medical rights(by state).... it is a very sad day.... but this still does not stop states from still passing medical marijuana laws... so people have to demand to their state reps that medical marijuana laws need to be passed... maybe then.... with enough states having medical marijuana laws the federal government will see that we need marijuana for medical purposes and people who use this herb for such problems are not criminals.....

    Your totally misinterpteting this.

    Federal law has ALWAYS superseeded State law.

    This ruling just says that principle also applies to perscription law- no surprise.

    Another interpretation of this (just as legit), is that it means the US congress may pass a medical mj law that will apply to all states.
