Israeli hackers just raided the main cyber currency exchange in Iran, cleaning out millions and they say they are releasing the source code for the exchange so it can be easily hacked if it is used further.

The exchange allowed Iran to avoid sanctions and receive money and pay for sanctioned goods

Despite Donald Trump’s recent claim that Iran was “very close” to making a nuclear weapon when Israel launched its bombing campaign, Mark Warner, the vice-chairman of the US Senate intelligence committee, said on Wednesday that senators were briefed on Monday, after Israel’s attack, that US intelligence agencies still see no evidence that Iran is trying to make nuclear weapons.

Warner said that Trump’s director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, had testified to the Senate in March “that Iran had taken no action towards, moving towards a bomb”.

“And we got reconfirmed … Monday of this week, that the intelligence hasn’t changed,” Warner added.

In her written, opening testimony to the Senate select committee on intelligence on 25 March, Gabbard summarized the collective assessment on Iran of the 18 US intelligence agencies that comprise the US intelligence community, which she referred to using the acronym IC:

"The IC continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamanei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003. The IC is closely monitoring if Tehran decides to reauthorize its nuclear weapons program."

When Trump was reminded on Tuesday of Gabbard’s testimony that Iran was not pursuing a nuclear weapon, he told reporters: “I don’t care what she said..."

Lets see here----we lost the Korean war, we lost the Vietnamese war, we lost the Afghanistan war----we may as well go over there and lose another one. There's big money to be made! Some companies will need to make the bombs, bullets, drones, etc-etc-etc-etc-etc-etc----. WE have plenty of young folks to go over there--GOG bless americky. Lead us into battle, oh mighty orange one.

And CIA Director John Ratcliffe says just the opposite.https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/john-ratcliffe-donald-trump-iran/2025/06/19/id/1215688/
That's the beauty of Trump World. There's an alternate reality for everybody. But at some point the real one will become evident!

Well it isn't completely true that Iran wasn't in the process of making nuclear weapons. They have apparently been producing 60% enriched uranium since 2021. 60% enriched uranium has no purpose. It can't be used in nuclear power plants which use uranium enriched to about 5%. It can't be used for nuclear weapons which use uranium enriched to over 90%.

It's not illegal to enrich uranium to 60% as long as it is declared. But you have to ask why. Why would you enrich uranium to 60% if you were only seeking to create fuel for nuclear reactors. There just simply aren't any nuclear reactors that can take fuel enriched to 60%. The Tehran research reactor can use 20% uranium.

"Nevertheless, 60 per cent was not an arbitrary choice. Cascades of centrifuges are designed to enrich uranium in steps; Iran’s centrifuges are likely set up to enrich up to 20 per cent, from 20 to 60 per cent, and from 60 to 90 per cent. Assuming the 60 per cent-enriched uranium is stored in the form of uranium hexafluoride (UF6) gas—and there would be no point in Iran converting it to any other chemical form—the enrichment step from 60 per cent-enriched to weapons-grade uranium is very short."

Why is Iran producing 60 per cent-enriched uranium?

Then we have the IAEA coming in last week and finding them in violation of the NPT because they weren't declaring all of their nuclear material. We also had Iran conducting successful implosion tests, which is how nuclear bombs work.

Iran carried out implosion tests for nuclear weapons development | The Jerusalem Post

So I would say that Iran did in fact have every intention of building a nuclear weapon arsenal. Perhaps they aren't "very close," but they are fairly close. The failure here is in diplomacy. As I mentioned in my previous post, nuclear facilities should never be attacked under any circumstance. Why did Israel attack when negotiations were ongoing? Perhaps Iran never did intend to negotiate either and was just buying time. Or perhaps Trump and Netanyahu are just searching for a war so that they can stay in power or some other crazy reason. Why did Trump pull the US out of the Iran deal (JCPOA) in 2017 anyway? Was he just setting the stage for what is happening now?

This speaks to the lack of authority of the IAEA because they have no real way to stop nuclear proliferation. This is exactly what nuclear power leads to -- nuclear proliferation and war. Because if countries develop nuclear programs for nuclear power, then they can also enrich uranium to above 90%.

The only real solution is for developed nations to lead by exampe and dismantle all existing nuclear power plants.

The US is calling for an end for an end to Iran's nuclear program, including for civilian power generation. Maybe Iran can't be trusted, but that is such a double standard. We should be ending all nuclear programs in every nation -- civilian and military.

Well the US began bombing Iran today. It was obvious this was coming if you just look at all of the unrealistic demands that were being made and Trump's comments in the past few days.

Now we wait to see how the rest of the international community will respond.

So much for Trumps no foreign wars platform. Maybe this will split the republican base enough that they will finally impeach him.
