Well apparently we wanted it to be bigger just over half a century ago hehe. It is small though in the map.. though you should come love where I do in the Alps and all of a sudden it doesn't appear to small.

This is my hometown of lovely, peaceful Mittenwald. In the distance all you see are our alps, lonesome don't feel like much when you're this high, the small country kind of makes you feel quite insignificant in world, but it is gorgeous here I never want to move.

Irm, beautiful doesn't even cover that. Really, that is a wondrous, raw, primal land you live in. :2thumbsup:

Not too nosey I'll just feel embarrassed saying it.
I didn't know this when I met my partner but her parents passed away when she was young and they did quite well for themselves in the property market game. When she turned 18 it was all basically handed down to her through the lawyers. She played it smart while I was still at school. She sold, bought, sold bought. I always had dreams of going to uni and studying something which I did and she let me run off and do this, I worked random bar jobs around the place and when I finished university she basically told me I didn't have to work if I didn't want to. I was early twenties, I thought hell yes! So that's kinda it, I lucked out with a rich girlfriend. >.>

Mind you I still work here though in the summer seasons I work with a friend at a stable and take tourists horse riding. =] I do this for no money, just the love of horses. Plus it gets me out into the wilderness where I can get lost and find my way home hehe.
The town is getting larger though with new districts it's not all medieval cute cottages like the pictures, lol.

So if you live here your best job is food and alcohol shops or anything to do with tourists. Tourists come here to ski, mountain bike ride, horses, hiking, hunting etc.
another reason I believe my English has stood up from what I had learned, there's always an American or Englishman over at the next table drinking beer.

The best part about Mittenwald, although the pictures won't show it, is just how accessible it is too two of my favorite cities. We are basically situated right on the Austrian/German border. To the north 90 mins away is Munich and to the South is Innsbruck. Between the two I don't miss too many bands that tour hehe.

Life is good here if you can get over the bad reception signs at times.

 

Same with Britain too. That tiny island controlled like 85% of the world at one time.

That is in the past though. When I think of Germany now I think of luxury cars like BMW and Mercedes and of course good beer. That is what you are known for now.:2thumbsup:

I am jealous.

I am going to hang my feeders this weekend in the hope that I catch the attention of any in the neighbourhood. Did see two robins visiting my yard this week, so there may just be hope.
