I am thinking it is just a pyramid scheme. That's why they go on about all those business buzz words. It sounds important but it's not.

I know this ^ was pages back, but I read pages back and just had to respond...in the past couple of years I looked over the youngest (extended family) niece's math homework. I have been flabbergasted AND infuriated.

(I didn't check in last night. I guess this is what I get. lol)

WTF and HOW the fuck are they teaching our children?!? I mean they start introducing algebra in the freakin 1st grade. Geometry in the 2nd grade...and they NEVER fucking EVER make them learn the (entire) multiplication tables. Division should be NEVER be taught before multiplication. :banghead:

I just don't understand how they expect these young people to really learn and understand math basics, which in this old world, I think you actually need! FGS!!! :cuss:

I am pretty good in math...the WAY to teach math is: addition, subtraction, multiplication tables (ALL need to be memorized!!!) and division. Division should be taught after some of the multiplication tables are being memorized/understood.

Algebra and geometry, which is an ABSTRACT damn thing, should be taught AFTER basic math skills are learned.

Do the people over teaching (which would be gubmint?) WANT our young people to not really understand math?...because that is damn sure how it seems to me! (Unless you have a mother like ML or an influence like me or some of my relatives, I'm not certain WTH the kids will learn.)

In case you didn't know, ML, you hit on one of my biggest pet peeves as far as teaching now-a-days goes.
