Quite on the contrary. And you base this assumption on nothing solid. My assumption about where and how extensive you have learned about islam is based on your generalisation and stereotyping of this religion as a whole as well as claiming it is the sole reason for extremist violence.

it is maybe smart to realize that you are the one trying to fit it in your simplified mold. I am only advocating you and others are stereotyping and oversimplifying it. I am not trying to fit islam in any kind of mold, it really is more diverse than you try to make it look.

There is no need to cherry pick in the Koran or the Hadiths. Unless you are looking for a verse that is not abrogated with the smallest hint of mercy from the non-Muslim.

There is the Hadit (discussion about the Koran), and there is the (Isnad) which is "supporting information". Islamic scholars have been discussing the Koran a long time. Sort of like the Rabbis who worked on the Talmud, after the Torah was compiled. The Christian religious scholars got together at the council of Nicea, the council of Ephasus, the council of Thesolonika, and other places. They desided what to put in the Christian Bible, and what books and gospels to leave out. The Christians who came to America considered themselves "blessed" after killing natives and stealing their homelands, and after enslaving balck folks, and stealing the fruit of their labor. The echo of "the only good Indian is a dead Indian" still rings in thwestern winds.
