I think you have such an issue with religion that your blinded by it. Have you ever spoken to muslim? Or an inman? Scriptures can Ben manipulated by man to surve there own interest.

In the first Sura of the Koran it says the Koran is to be taken literally. Any other interpretation unless specified in the Koran is a no no.
So the more violent verses are not manipulated they are used to inspire.

Tons of people still do that in the name of various religions or belief system. What about Russia which is overtly communist and covertly orthodox and stopped gay bashing just for the olympics? Or Uganda which is 75% christian and passed a law against homosexuality that almost included the death penalty?

This is not about religion, it's about stupidity and ass-backwardness. The religion is just window dressing to make the whole thing look more legit.

 

Why? So can argue about it? That's going to be interesting.

 

I agree the religion is for a large part window dressing (although there are probably some gullible and misled believers in IS ranks). But that they are causing another civil war over there is of course not 'just about stupidity and ass-backwardness'. It is also not just about creating a kaliphate or their annoyance with gays and other infidels.

No. But i believe that it shows the mindset of a large part of the people in this so called Islamic State. They are just losers turned into bullies by a few ringleaders.

But when you say essence .... I think that might be the right word. The essence is that when people are poor, uneducated, indoctrinated from a young age it becomes possible to move them in directions that they normally wouldn't go.

 

I am inclined to conclude the same: the combi of that they are poor, poorly educated, oppressed and indoctrinated have taken a lot of people in a most unfortunate direction. It does certainly not count for every IS soldier though. And even if they are just losers turned into bullies there still is a motive for that which goes beyond merely ass-backwardness. Unless you count power, influence and/or money of course under the terms 'stupidity and assbackwardness. I agree they have at least as much to do with this as religion itself.

When people are kept poor and uneducated and when they are educated in the West and own a golden gun. It has been shown the leaders of this jihad are highly educated and far from poor.

I just don't think you can or could spend the time to get "highly educated" and STILL believe the slaughtering of your fellow humans over words is somehow godly. As I have said before, Isis fighters are mostly from other nations. They are funded for the most part by Saudi, Qatari, and God knows what other money. The word is they have elected to do these things in Iraq and Syria because their local governments are weak. ISIS is attempting to create a new country, and using religion to terrorize the locals. They are pure evil, not Muslim, and the locals have to exterminate them. Iraqi soldiers know how to spot ISIS fighters better than anyone else and have done a good job so far. But, ISIS was getting about a 1000 new fighters every month. I think poor men from Chechnia, Yemen, Libya, and Egypt are so poor that they take to big money from the Saudi investors. These investors have designs for Iraqi oil.
