StonerBill, those claims are based off a lot of tests from the early 70's showing that marijuana lowered white blood-cell count. But, there's been more and more studies recentely emerging that shows either no effect, a minimal decrease, or even an increase. So, it's not really true fact yet, but might just be the general consensus.

Joints are pretty tarry. And you'd probably be having respritory problems if you just started smoking heavily with them. But everybody's body is different and reacts in different ways. I'd reccomend a water bong.

Anyway, I wrote a pretty nice paper for my English class. I lost it a couple months ago, and had to get a copy from my teacher, but he didn't remember to include the footnotes. You can go to erowid to verify all information, though.

definitely true. i got a pretty terrible cold a while ago, and it lasted probably two months cause regardless of how sick i felt, i just kept on drinking and smoking like usual. that made things so much worse...not only did i pass the cold on to plenty of people i smoked with, but my throat was completely shredded for what seemed like an endless amount of time. i wasn't about to let a cold get in the way of my habits...but despite being high a lot, those couple of months were real uncomfortable.

MJ has hundreds of healthful uses. I've been using MJ pretty much all day everyday for about 17 yrs - it is better than prozac & asprin & lots of other drugs

daily tokin reduces stress - a massiv killer
I dont even think smokin its really harmful - nofink like tobacco (with all it's additives & stuff - even the cig papers r treated & harmful
ur lungs take in stuff all the time - flem & coughing r normil natural ways to clear them - smokin dope aint any risk I can see form friends who have smoked betwen 10-40 years each - all fine
smokin cigs is definately harmful but even then I think thats a smoke screen to cover the real facts that car fumes pollution etc. are damaging our lungs health worse than anything - but keep it quite coz were makin good $ & tell the dumb public MJ is the devils weed. Figure more people r worried ther kids will smoke this terrible stuff than would leave ther car at home 2 protect ther kids future
    think about it
(I recommend smokin a nice fat bifta to help wiyth that)

nothin 2 do with the heat - if u got a water pipe 4xample it cools the smoke right down anywya
& who says it hits ur lungs at a higher temp - have u got a fuckin thermometer in yer chest?? I believe it burns at about the same temp & it dependz howz u toke how hot it is
mj smoke feels rougher - not the same as beeing hotter
& I hears that european fags is worse coz they r acidic - they make them this way coz they smoke milder even tho they r worse so ther u go

Im sure it was mentioned on here before the forum look was changed and it feels rougher on your throat because its burning more. But try smoking a bong with snow packed into the bottom of it i swear you can take the biggest hits ever. When i did it i was gettin these really amazing head rushes that only lasted about 15-20 mins but they where so amazing. I dont know if the head rushes where due to the weed or not tho coz i had 0.5g of speed sitting inside me that for some reason hadnt took effect at all.

I've had no cold before and then a day after smoking up i had a cold....
Another time i had a cold that wasn't too bad and was almost passed, not bad at all. I decided i'll smoke up and boy did i fucken pay for it the next day because the cold became super bad with a cough, running nose and stuffed head. I should've been over the cold in 4days but it took like 10 instead.

Weed shouldn't be smoked when you got colds ever!

lol your making yourself out as a real idiot if i say so myself.

it is not an oppinion, it is a fact that weed burns at a higher temperature to treated tobacco. he was tlaking about joints, not bong use too.

and though its true that eruopeans smoke stronger tobacco i dont think it has anything to do at all with the acidicy of the smoke.

Prove it burns at a higher temperature. Perhaps you feel this way because you smoke filtered cigerettes. Try unfiltered and then do tell.

basically it burns at a far higher temperature and contains more tar
than cigarettes....in addition to the free radical agents contained within the
tobacco used to smoke the mj.

Tar & heat are responsible for developing lung cancer as they can cause changesin the cells within the lung, these mutate as they heal from the damage causedand in effect can become cancerous...therefore if you are ingesting a higheramount of tar and exposing your lungs to more heat you are more likely to
develop cancer. If smoking with tobacco the free radicals also attack healthy
cells and contribute to the process of the cells becoming cancerous.

why do you deny it burns at a higher temperature? its a FACT! it is unprocessed plant matter! tobacco has been prepared and has many chemicals added, and subjequently it burns at a lower temperature than green plant matter. if you got tobacco striahgt off a tree, it would be different but were not tlaking about that.

think about i tlike this: prepared nicotine requires less heat to burn because it has been prepared so much, and is no longer green, and is totally dry. however green plant matter requires more heat to burn all the natural chemicals that have not broken down. A flame however is much higher than the required temperature of both. since green requires more heat to burn, it will have to sustain a higher temperature to stay alight, and since the energy is practically infinite, and since the joint will keep burning, it follows reason and logic that the heat sustained by the joint will be higher than prepared tobacco that requires less heat.
and so if you dispute this, your unreasonable and illogical.

so a 12 foot joint would still be hotter than a normal cig eh??? think about it - if u sat som joint smoke in the freezer 4 a day would it still b hotter than a cig? & presumably raw tobacco burns hotter than treated weed then?
