I think ultimately the bringer of light is in ourselves. Excluding the possibility of "intervention" from otherworldly beings to help with our evolution. Which has been mentioned in the bible and referred to as "satan" , so people will fear these being and information thus furthering our enslavement to this physical reality we call earth

 

i'm frequently misread. yes, the causing of harm IS evil. i'm saying that IS what evil IS and the one and only thing THAT evil is.

human aggressiveness is its own devil and ego is what drives it.

the existence of unseen, non-physical, things, has nothing to do with this. what we pretend to know about them, is ourselves pretending.

my one caviat i would have to say instead, is that not all suffering is caused intentionally. those who do so are an exception, and in need of psychological healing. rather the incentives that create the conditions that lead to suffering are MOSTLY caused through ignorance, but caused none the less statistically by the priorities people actually live by. some people it naver occurs to try to find out how to avoid doing so, and some deliberately hide themselves from any understanding of how to do so.

when a culture romantacizes aggressiveness though, deliberate maliciousness, while still the exception, becomes increasingly common.

having an ego isn't bad. we all do. but egotism, this voraciousness of the self, to be central to central to all of existence, which it can never in reality be, you know this, calling that something good, this learned behavior, its not something that comes from nature as so many beliefs try to claim.

but at any rate, that is the only real "devil" such as it is.

 

The devil is only as real as Jesus or any deity. All are part of the Way.
If you wish to refer specifically to Satan then the answer would hinge on whether you refer to the traditional Christian faith or the babe Christian faith.

what is real, is that people want an excuse, outside of themselves, for their own behavior, when it becomes an embarrassment to them.

while the possibility of completely non-physical beings and things, is real enough, and completely beyond proving nor disproving, everything claimed as knowledge about them, is our own fantasy as physically living sapient beings.
