that is a big bullshit what if though.
the reason dxm is scummy is the trip itself, not the substance distribution
anyone who has done lsd would think you are full of shit for saying that.
and that means a lot of people, including myself will think that reading your post dude.

i dissed zicam because of 1, i've tried it.
2. it's not fine.
3. smoke pot, eat shrooms anything but dxm man.
that stuff is scummy compared to the drugs you can get in this world.
the main reason dxm is scummy is due to the fact that even the goverment thinks it's scummy and that is why it is legal...in a scummy form.
i think dxm in straight powder isn't too scummy...but that doesn't happen that much for you does it man?

I think its scummy if someone older is fucking with it, I think of it as something 13 year old little kids mess with to experiment with there first few times. They use it When they are to young to have hook up's for Hits or Shrooms. Why in the world would I want to down a bottle of Cough Medicine just thinking about that makes me feel sick to my Stomach and Scummy.

because i don't understand how a trip can be scummy in itself.
do you mean that while you are on dxm, you feel scummy?
because most normal human beings on dxm aren't thinking of the 'scum factor' but how messed up things are in their head and around them, etc.
you see, 90% of the people who think it's scummy seem have a problem with the distribution, meaning-
A: It's scummy because it's COUGH SYRUP! Eww!
or
B: It's a kiddie drug because it's soooo easy to get/steal/whatever. Get a 'real' drug!

just look at Shocbomb's response and you'll see. it's the whole "eww - cough medicine!" thing.
again, if DXM was never used in cough medicine but was instead trafficked around as a drug, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
and anyone on lsd would most likely agree, considering it is a rather valid point i have made here

 

I've done dxm 4 times, my most intense dose was 735mg. This was done with the robitussin gel cap things. Weed helps alot with the nausea and setting the mood right. I like the trips alot but the next day you will still be fucked so keep that in mind.

 

I will probably get blasted for this, but in my opinion all drugs are scummy on a certain level. DXM is certainly amongst the most scummy. It sounds like a most unpleasant experience, too, from the trip reports I've read. Fuck that shit.

 

DXM can be a very introspective, interesting experience, but it definitely gets old after a while. I'd say my very first trip was the best, even if I didn't realize it at the time. High doses of DXM tend to produce hardly any introspective aspects to the trip, so I've found that around 350mg is pretty optimal. If I take anything higher I don't really come away with anything. Also, DXM, when planned out correctly, is actually a pretty awesome party drug. First plateau tripping gives you a euphoric feeling that energizes you to connect and socialize with people in a very unique way, even if you act like somewhat of an idiot in doing so. I've found this level of tripping to be very blissful and positive. Overall, I'd say DXM is a very interesting drug... one worth trying under proper circumstances and setting.

this thread title is incorrectly worded. the actual tripping isn't scummy, maybe the nasty process of achieving the affects.

 

once you start robotripping the whole time you just want it to end. its not fun at all.

same with coricidins---they have been shown to cause your brain to bleed from extreme use.
its not a very smart choice.

I did it once and took a low dose and it was pretty damn fun..I didn't take enough to hallucinate but everything was funnier and it was crazy trying to walk

I don't think it's scummy at all.
Although I don't don't take enough to get the visuals, I feel as if my thoughts are 'uncluttered' (for lack of a better term.)

I also only do DXM once a month or so, partly because of the cost of the gels and partly to err on the side of caution. I also don't want to build up a tolerance to it, so I try to moderate usage and prolong it so I can avoid upping the dosage for the same effect.

i don't remember writing this, but presumably was on dxm. do i still think its scummy/dirty? i dunno, it sort of 'feels' a little scummy to be honest. but then again, i've had really profound experiences with it, especially with people that I love around. maybe it just feels scummy because that's what everyone told us about it, or maybe because the DXM high works by sort of 'pulling down' your mind, instead of a drug like LSD, which 'lifts it up'. In a manner of speaking.

AND! No, I don't think that there is an age limit for taking DXM. That's preposterous. Adults have just as much right to chug nasty ass OTC shit to get fucked up as kids do. The only difference is, most adults probably buy it instead of steal it.

With some patients and some skill you can grow your own shrooms.......... I think of robotrippers as lasy and looking for a easy way to trip.. When it isnt a psychidelic at all

And of course they make you feel good in the northeren hemisphere where were all cold and achey... While in the winter I take cold medicine. but I dont feel no tripping feelings at all... While I take shrooms almst daily... Why would I even care to eat my stomache lining out with some boguus cold pills.... IF I was still 13 yrs old but damn I think you can grow up now and aquire some real Psychedelic drugs...

 

I don't think it's about desperation at all. Obviously, since it is OTC, sometimes desperate people will get some tussin for a quick fix, but most robopeople just like the dissociative experience.
