I had a hair cut once, sweet little thing, sat in its hutch, ate a lot of lettuce and carrots. It would run around the garden and leave its little raisin crap everywhere.
It was the cutest thing ever. Till I dropped a pack of raisins and tried to pick up the good ones. Note to self: don't eat the bad raisins.
Listen to the song "A Small Circle of Friends" by Phil Ochs, and I think that will sum up our generation.
Exerpt from Phil Ochs - Small Circle of Friends: Oh, look outside the window, there's a woman bein' grabbed. They dragged her to the bushes, and now she's bein' stabbed. Maybe we should call the cops and try to stop the pain, but Monopoly is so much fun, I'd hate to blow the game. And I'm sure it wouldn't interest anybody, outside a small circle of friends.
most of my friends think the same way, too. there seems to be a feeling that everything is too big to affect with something like writing to your members of congress. seems to breed a lot of apathy and willingness to "go with the flow" in the wrong sense.
noww do youu believe in rock and roll cann music save your mortal soul and can you teach me how to dance reallll slow?
The song is from the sixties, but yes, the first part was about her. I have the song in a zip file, but I don't know if I can post it here. PM me if you want it.
no. i would shoot myself in the head before I'd listen to phil ochs... "I'm not marching any moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"
Well, here it is anyway. If it's against the rules, just have someone remove it Phil Ochs - Outside of A Small Circle of Friends Code: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=9DC7CFE15F05E5FD
Who cares? Anyways. In all seriousness - I am sure we will be known for something else. Something is gonna happen under our noses and when we read the history books, we will be like "Oh, I didn't know that..." It could happen. You guys, our generation doesn't end at 29. It ends when the last of us dies. We are still looking at eighty years to do something.
Not me. I just thought it was already blatantly obvious that our generation is the "Who cares lets watch mtv and reality tv instead because taking time to do meaningful stuff takes too much time away from doing drugs" generation.
