That is simply not true and I stand by what I said. I was reading the reports every day during the deliberations and what emerged from the Senate did not resemble Obama's original plan very much.
I Voted "Dont care" because regardless of who stands at the podeum on election night to give an acceptance speech,,, the speech, the news and other media and everything related and leading up to that moment is irrelevant, it's just going to be another asshole spewing bullshit to calm and reassure the Herd that everything is ok and he will be the best one for keeping the wolves at bay, name / skin color / age /sex,,, irrelevant... s.s.d.d.
The Republicans were not needed at all for passage of the bill, in fact not even all the Democrats were needed. I don't remember seeing Obama's plan made public, although it probably couldn't have been much worse than what was passed. And are we now being governed from the top down, the people be damned?
So, I've been saying for a year that the only Republican who has any chance of beating Obama is Romney. But lately, Romney has really taken a beating on being a flip-flopper (which he is). He hasn't been able to gain any traction with GOP voters, who now favor Gingrich. Since Gingrich is one of the most hated men in Washington, I see no chance he could beat Obama. So, I have to conclude that Obama will win easily.
Obama's not much different than those other two. Not everyone in this country is stupid enough to vote for him. You're forgetting Ron Paul. Looks at the progress he's made in the first voting states, Iowa and New Hampshire. He's doing really well, and seems to be edging closer towards being the only alternative.
To elect Obama, only about 28% of the citizens have to vote for him (55% turnout * 51% majority). Your comments about Ron Paul may be true, but they have no bearing on Obama's re-election. If you think he has a chance, then I think you have a weak grasp of reality.
Wow, it's really quite amazing how far off base so many of you are in terms of understanding how things work and knowing that politics are a farce designed strictly for the public to believe in. I mean, we still have people defending Obama with stuff like "Bush created the mess," which is almost as idiotic as the aforementioned twit himself. The current economic problems go back a lot further than just a few presidents. If anything, they go back to the creation of the Federal Reserve, which more people are understanding is the REAL center of power for the United States. Once you realize how money works, you realize none of this petty partisan political shit some of you waste your time with matters. It's noise, yet so many of you act like it matters whether Obama is re-elected or some other corporate puppet takes the seat of superficial power. These people are just figureheads and have little say in anything, which is all being run from behind the scenes.
The speech Obama gave yesterday in Kansas was the most important one of his presidency. It appears that he is finally starting to fight against the banks and fat cats that got us into this mess. It is a very striking contrast to all of the other candidates, so I have to disagree with you. It's very important to the middle class that Obama get re-elected. Everyone should read this speech Robert Reich's analysis
He's a politician. He says what people want to hear. It's very unlikely he wrote the speech, and certainly not by himself. You do realize presidents have teams of scriptwriters, correct? Obama cannot even make a brief speech without a teleprompter in front of him, so I doubt much of what he says comes from himself. Also, Obama is owned by Wall Street. They bankrollled his first run for office, and they will again this time around. The notion that Obama is going to get tough on the banks is ludicrous, as the banks and the government exist as one single entity. The Federal Reserve controls the government and owns the politicians -- not the other way around. This is more half-baked populist rhetoric from Obama. I sure as hell am not buying it, and I have a hard time understanding who can. I find his rhetoric to be laughable. If anything, this will all just be used by the government (which again is controlled by the banks) to give itself more power under the guise of "reigning in Wall Street greed."
That is a great speech, but I dont trust him to act on it much, but we will see. He still has my vote though, because I am a sane person who learns from past presidential incompetence that although Obama has turned out to be much less than most of us had hoped he is far better than any one of the clowns running in the GOP.
This important article just appeared in the Rolling Stone. The gist is that the Republican presidential candidates are gung-ho on making themselves un-electable. The GOP's Crackpot Agenda
