I like the idea of living simply, but only to a point. I can't imagine using hand tools, for what power tools can do better.

The Amish would seem to be a well-known group of people who prefer to live simply, and by faith in God, and yet I suspect that the Amish don't use any "birth control." Of course not all people who trust God for the number of children they should have, have "big" families, but those who do so, do tend to naturally enlarge the human race, over time, so I think that "living simply" is somewhat elusive, when taken to excess.

Computers even, are a "population accomodation" tool, because they help to properly distribute the right amounts of inventory, to the various stores, so that people can buy what they need, when they want it.

And I do much enjoy, exploring the alternate realities or scenarios of video games, which often are more about "fun" than actual reality.

What was the alternate reality scenario of the sci-fi story of Half Life (game for my PS2) anyway? Finding a better means of energy production, or was it to open up portals into other dimensions or realms, to give the expanding human race more room to grow into? Or was the game nearly another typical sci-fi excuse for "special effects" entertainment, found in so many sci-fi movies?

I think one place where you see the destruction of humans in great detail is the ocean, though alot of ppl don't bother to look and once again money is the almighty so deplete and destroy your beautiful ocean for it. All the coral reefs dying, drastic decrease in fish populations due to over commercial fishing, polution of the whater, mercury contaminating the fish, the list goes on.

Well, considering no other species on earth has a concept of history (as far as we know), then I would have to say that all the animals which are now extinct because of us would probably have no idea whether things are better now or not, and I'm pretty fucking angry right now.

Humans are destructive by nature, but we are also smart (maybe), so we can learn to be better so if we all worked together we could do great things to restore and then preserve nature, just as we have now done great things to destroy it.
