Well I agree that she should be careful. But let's not just sit on our hands out of fear. She could always follow long enough to get the tag number ... some counties are real damn hard on litterbugs and have signs posted with numbers to call to report it.

I have noticed lately that their are a lot more save the earth comercials on tv... but is anyone paying attention... I have always tried extremely hard to do all i can but i have to admit i drive a gas hog 86 chevy blazer and sometimes i buy new instead of used because i am poor and its cheeper and i cant afford otherwise... if recycling and conservation become popular will it be easier to accomplish? we are a society that relies on quick and easy so maybve if it was quicker and easier in mainstream lives more people would be willing to help...

Its pretty obvious by now that the onset of the human civilization is taking a large toll on the environment.

it is quite likely that we ARE threatining the carrying capacity of nature's cycles of renewal upon which our own existence utterly depends.

we are doing this primarily by the load of carbon we are dumping into the air and water and the shift in weatherpaterns, somewhat misleadingly in an intuitive sense perhapse, refered to as gloabal warming.

the principal source of this new to the past hundred years or so order of magnitude leap in carbon release is the use of combustion to generate energy and power transportation. several other factors also contribute to a lesser degree and our out of ballance excess of human population compounds the problem.

it is one that is by no means insoluable however. the simple combination of deriving as much of our energy and transportation consumption from noncombustive sources with reducing human firtility without bias or exception accross the board will most likely do the trick.

were this to be fully implimented immediately it will still take several decades before balance is fully restored. falure to do so however, is a gamble with the continuation of the existence of our own species, and possibly that of the web of life itself.

Within 20 billion years from now the sun will die, the helium gas will stop burning and when the sun dies, it will take 8 minutes untill the temperature drops from 19 to 40 below -0 and earth will die in a couple of days. everything will turn in to ice..
pretty tragic but EVERYTHING has an end.. but within those 20 billion years i think that humanity already destroyed itself and most of the planet Tellus.. Mars, neptune merkury, all will be gone.. i just want to say one more thing..

Yes, I believe that 100%. I'd rather be a duck then a human sometimes.

At this point in history, I would probably agree that humans have done more harm than good to Earth. You never know though- there's still a small chance that humans will get their act together at some point in the distant future (if we're still around by then) and end up being a positive force on the planet, using technology and better sense to fix a lot of the damage we've done in the past few centuries.

Not of any use because i am going to be vague.

I read that the ever increasing dependance on a technological solution to our environmental issues, will eventualy turn around and kick us up the ass.

Their will be a point that no further advancement good or bad will save the planet from eventual eradication of the human species.

How long it will take is questionable. Looking back at the increasing technological advancements; it could be sooner than we think.

I could have paid far to much attention the MI:3 though..

Hunters sometimes use the "the population of deer is growing and over using the land" thing to justify what they are doing. Did they ever stop to think that maybe we should let the deer and the rhinocerouses and the elephants and the wolves open up hunting season on our overpopulated species. I've seen deer ruin farms and I've watched men ruin the world.

We'll probably end up killing ourselves in a nuclear war or something anyway...

I think it will be more like a pathogen spread through sexual contact. Maybe through blood transfusion. Propogated by religous stupidity. Started by 'men in black or white'.

"We are continuing to develop disabling weapons."

Dr MacArthur, who was in charge of the research, said:

"We are developing a new lethal weapon, a synthetic biological agent that does not naturally exist, and for which no natural immunity could have been acquired."

I am a Green, but all you people who think the earth is better off without us...why don't you practice what you preach and get rid of yourself first as an example.

Nobody wants to get rid of the greens - otherwise we would have no one to take the mickey out of. Get rid of the greens last - its more fun that way they give us all the best laugh
