That is one way use the perceptive quality of belief, there is another and that is to believe there is something to be found and in this way belief is the way to apprehension. Seek and you shall find. Upon your findings the world you perceive appears to you.

 

I am saying that if a person thinks that a book that begins with a talking snake and ends with a seven headed monster, --- while showing a genocidal son murdering prick of a God in the middle, --- should be read literally to find God, --- then they are beyond stupid.

I beg to differ with you on that point sir. I believe in Jesus, or at least I believe that there could have very well been a man called Jesus, whether or not he is God is not my bone to gnaw on but still. I am also not even so much as remotely a literalist.

 

A man, sure. A God and sacrifice or messiah sent by God. God is not that big a prick is he?

If the Jesus you believe in comes out of the bible then of course you read literally. If not, where did you read of Jesus and develop your literal belief?

Belief? Only if he has had an apotheosis. That is the only thing that can push faith or hope or desire to belief.

Otherwise it is just hearsay and book say and that can only produce foolish faith.

I encourage hope and seeking, --- but not faith.

As a Gnostic Christian, I think that faith without facts is for fools.

Demand more from your God than just the thinking and lies from religions.
