The 2nd Amendment gives us the right to bear arms, it doesn’t say the right to bear the arms that you approve of!

Of course the 2nd Amendment was written in the context of weapons of the day. There have always been limitations of the time. No one wants everyone to possess nuclear weapons, bazookas, poison gas canisters, biological weapons or howitzers. Or do you?

And that little pile of dirt the gun nut sweep under the rug… a well regulate militia. The rest of the World is baffled by how such lethal carnage can be allowed to continue in Atlanta, Chicago, Oshkosh and Festus, Missouri. It’s time to wake up before your neighbor slips a cog and takes out the customers of your local quick stop.

Look up when you got the right to bear arms without belonging to a governmental national or state militia.

Hint: It wasn't in 1791.

So how about listing the number of times an assault weapon was used by an average citizen to stop a bank robbery, rape, or mass shooting vs the times they were used to commit those crimes. Please list sources.

Actually a large amount of the illegal guns being used by cartels in Mexico are smuggled in from the U.S.

But you have this huge amount of firearms going from the United States to Mexico, estimates are more than 200,000 firearms every year trafficked from the U.S. to Mexico - over 10 years, more than 2 million guns. And those guns used by extremely violent groups, cartels, who have carried out a humanitarian catastrophe.

I think it's true that the legal gun trade in the United States also fuels the drug trade, but it also - more than that, it fuels the violence in Mexico. It fuels the violence in Central America. And you see these same guns going down into Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, where it's very - been very high levels of violence in recent years. You've had huge amounts of people fleeing this and applying for asylum in the United States. So from the U.S. point of view as well, you're creating a more unstable neighborhood. You're creating large numbers of refugees fleeing to the United States in this same cycle. So you get this issue of guns at the core of U.S. politics, then this issue of refugees, asylum-seekers at the border and these actually both being very connected issues.
