god is perhaps an answer in search of a question.

i believe all sorts of neat fun invisible things exist, that no one knows anything about, including myself.

some speculations are more reasonable then others however, and it seems unlikely that they are dominated by anything that wishes us any particular harm.

as for why we, or god, exist, i don't think its for any particular reason, nor see it as needing to be.

Theist: "Why does the world exist if there is no god?"
Atheist: "No reason. Why does god exist?"
    Theist: "No reason."

If it is someone other than Myself, it must be God, because God is the only other person I myself connect with on the internet other than all these unsocial moronic political Votes. If you mean "off the internet", then I am surely the social correspondence of this unsocial Cartesian proof for the Existence of God.

that's awesome-- except that you only exist, like god, because others agree that you exist. and you being a solipsist, you're not one of them.

personally, I'm certain that there is no you.

Not so Geck. Willedwill exists inherently. Our belief in him may produce certain effects on both him and ourselves, but there is no consensus upon which his life hangs. Everyone can be I, but it has it be through you too. :)

You're like a political vote, though I wouldn't call you moronic, or even unsocial.

Just misguided. How's your finite universe coming along? ;)

But then due to God's grace, the minds of the world Exist. Can you imagine that each one of US has a mind with the representation for ideas we sometimes never even dream of.

To fulfill the desire to create temporary conditions for ourselves. Quite the trick as temporary has no effect in eternity. We can fuck up and be shown that we fuck up, without fucking it all up.

Someone's gotta fix the toilet leak, or restore the bathroom ceiling from mold.

Probably the most widespread answer at any rate.... But it's just as easy to say that everyone else was created to contrast my ego, and that I, being the centric force in the world was created to set a shining example unto the world of my amazement.

However, both answers are crude, stupid and simplistic in nature.

My reason that I exist is because my parents wanted to raise a child and spread their genetics, or perhaps by accident.

At any rate it's not a question that's worth answering, I've spent far too long hammering in the nail of existentialism into my mind and I've got to say that it will only cause more grief in the end.

I believe we should not focus on WHY we exist, but What we exist for.
I exist for everyone I love, otherwise I would not wish to exist.

I think its insane for anyone to look at themselves and even consider that all of the
universes majesty is about them, and with the same breathe claim humility.

I realize 'we' is often a loose term for 'everything', but the question "Is god the only
answer for why we exist?" is a perfect example of the problem most people have in
understanding the controversy surrounding discussions about a creator in an existential
    conversation.

God means exactly what you want it to.

The solution is to desire truth.
