I think this thread is garbage, and think your messed up in head. Also u are hypocrate. Your also generalizing. Must men, and women are not sluts. By stating this u are makeing us women feel very insecure, and sef-concouse about our boddies; me included. think twice for you speak, because it may hurt someone; like me who have been raped.
Well if indeed it is a joke, I'm still not laughing..so maybe he should find other shit to joke about.
I understand, SM, and I agree with you. I even took it personally when he started mentioning about some of the really cool people here, including you, of course. Trust me, it's been a challenge to keep my words constructive and mature. I mean, I don't like it when people say bad stuff about my friends, ya know... Anyway, don't worry about it. You, YOURSELF, know fully well you're NOT what he claims you are. That's what matters. In the meantime, would a hug from me make you feel a bit better?
I'm not worried about it...I'm cool. I just don't like me or my sisters being called whores. Women have a hard enough time in the world as it is. Not saying men don't, but in this particular subject, we really catch hell. It's like damned if you do and damned if you don't. I do get a little angry over this kind of stuff. Yeah..Sugarmaggs needs a good hug today.
I fall into this demographic. I do *not* sleep around. I haven't ever had a one night stand. I don't go into the bathroom to suck some guy's cock. It's not that I'm hardcore christian or anything, but that it's not my perogative. I am sexually agressive, sure, but I don't go around and do that to anybody less than a boyfriend/girlfriend that I deeply care about. Does the fact that I'm sexually agressive and my ex and I slept together 500+ times over the 2.5 years we were together make me a whore, or just a good girlfriend? Where I live, people at parties talk about sex and sex organs, but nobody wants to touch it, or feel it as you stated. Everybody I hang out with and party with even, falls between the ages of 17 and 25. And none of them are whores, yet you seem to act as though everybody in this age group is. The whole issue is just a matter of perspective. That's all anything in this world is. It's all about your perspective, and changing your perspective on something can change a lot. (I'm not saying you need to change your perspective; please don't take it that way) You may think that girls who go around having sex whenever they like are whores, but the next guy may not. For all you know these girls might very well be fed up with being treated like shit by assholes they've fallen for. They might just be tired of having their heartbroken, and decide that it's easier to just screw around with no emotions attached. I wouldn't so much say that people in my generation are whores, but as far as I can see, all the women I know in my generation have been treated very badly by their significant others. Maybe it's not that everybody is slutty and just looking for a piece of ass, but rather that our parents (that would be YOUR generation) didn't do a good job giving us proper moral guidence. Or maybe they just did a particularly good of a job when they taught us to think for ourselves as opposed to play into a mundane stereotype.
I think sex is just freer today than in years past. People don't realize the lovemaking in marriage is the best sex...
Marriage doesn't necessarily make lovemaking better, or there wouldn't be all those married people complaining about their sex life.
Wow what a lot of crap in some of those posts. Ok for what its worth (not a lot) I'll add my views. I don't view all women (18-25 or older) as whores or slutty. However, as someone who regularly travels on a bus to work that's filled with kids going to school (11-16yo) I have to admit that from a local point of view the girls in the 14-16yo age group around these parts are getting a bit on the slutty side. It doesn't surprise me that there's a lot of teenage (underage) mothers in the UK these days. I'm not just talking about short skirts and cropped tops etc. thats a personal choice what anyone wants to wear. What I mean is girls attempting to come on to guys old enough to be their father (and yes I mean ME too) - thats just NOT on and as someone who has been flashed on more than one occasion on public transport by underage girls wearing thongs I think I'm in a position to say "THAT IS SLUTTY" - not all are like that I know but it does give a bad opinion (or good if you're that way inclined) to a guy who is only trying to go to work!! Ok - for the record I don't agree with guys getting in to bed with as many girls as they can either. I'm old fashioned in that respect and I know that I led a sheltered childhood and that has had an affect on me and the way I live my life.
and on top of that (not when you're 14, but 18 and up, i guess) girls are considered sluts and guys are considered pimps or something. it's sort of unfair to women. What scares me the most is how some of the middle-schoolers aren't virgins. I think that's very wrong; we're all too young, and these things start too early. I don't see how anyone can believe that a 12 year old blowing their boyfriend (for reasons that were somewhat superficial..oprah? come on..) is right. Morality is at stake. Or maybe it's just my morals and how they're different to society's... I do believe that girls like to indulge low-cut shirts and short skirts a little too much, but that doesn't really make them slutty. i think it's more pride in their bodies. Attention seeking, if you will. However, you can't generalize that the whole, entire younger generation is slutty. That's a little prejudice.
Parents may influence our actions, but in the end, we're the ones that make them. I agree with you, though. That's NOT funny when you're so young. People need to start harnessing children's innocence, or pureness, much rather. We only have it for so long. "It would be nice if sledding were always enough, but it isn't." Teachers should stop telling us how having one cigarrette is going to make us drop dead and be a bad person, and start teaching us right from wrong again, because as simple as it seems, it really isn't. We're so lost in the media. It's sort of brainwashing us, but we're the ones that are choosing to obey it. It's upsetting, and i wonder what will happen in the future and how young kids will be when they're having sex and blowing for quarters.
