I know it doesn't happen to everyone, I'm not sure I've ever seen pictures of it actually, but In real life I've seen quite a bit of it, even on non-waxed and generally "properly" done backcombs/tnr's. It's just a weird line where the texture changes, and the knoting type is different, because of how that persons hair naturally knots in contrast to the type they created.
She said she doesn't like the idea of neglect... so we don't really need to bring that old argument here. In answer to the title, yes. But I didn't need to read the post to give that answer. I only read it cos it had pretty pictures
yeah don't hijack the girls thread with the old debate. Oh and OP, if you're going to an art college then you will fit in just fine. if your studying business or something in the real world, the dreads may get in the way of the job but probably not the people. Go for it, enjoy it and love it
art college? Im still wanting dreads lol. ive seen a couple people around my campus with dreads. My new writing teacher has dreads!!! and lip piercings and tunnels...
Oh yeah, I'm a waitress. So I'm thinking neglect would be a bad idea lol. I need to look semi-decent lol. And as for college type, I think I'm going for either liberal arts stuff (like international studies) or pre-med. So we'll just see. And your writing teacher must be a cool dude lol
legal rasta, you are a lucky shit and i want a dready piercingy writing teacher. is she hot? can i swap places with you? and yes nattilee its true, dreads are magic and will make you even hotter than you are. go for iiiitttt.
Well I just have to do it now lol. Anyway so I did my first dread twist and rip. It was kinda just like a tester thing for me, not sure if I did it right. Couldn't find an actual tutorial for it or anything. So do I have this right: you just grab a section of hair (they say about 1x1 inch, but I kinda went for what felt like a natural section, I dunno), start about an inch away from the scalp, and just pull the hair apart, put it together, pull it apart so it kinda knots and goes up, and so forth? It looks kinda like I did it right.. I'm not actually starting yet though. I still have to do the deep cleanse wash hair thing. I think I'm gonna go the baking soda route.
...You don't need to deep cleanse before you start... I mean, the first week worth of dandruf and irratation at your new hairstyle will undo it all, and then some Just wash your hair with baking soda or whatever your new shampoo will be, rinse it very well, and go to it!
Throw a little twist in there before you 'rip' and you've got it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VimvRHBJTqw"]T&R
