Hey I just joined so I though I'd introduce myself. My names Bethany, I'm 17 years old and I just moved from Mongtomery, AL to Birmingham, AL. Its hard to leave the safety of my trusted circle (especially when it comes to doing illegal activities with strangers; you never know who you can trust) but I've met some people that seem okay.

Um......my favorite band is Led Zeppelin. I think I might like them a little too much but, hey, then again whats too much? Song of choice- "Trampled Underfoot" fye- "No Quarter" is a great song to listen to while trippin'.

ok, so i'm a bit nervous to introduce myself, but then i think this forum is full of love, so why should i be nervous. let me start out by saying hello to everyone.

anyway, my name's claire, i'm 16 & i live in british columbia, canada. i create a lot of art and music. i live with the most wonderful mother a girl like me could possible have. she supports everything that i do in my life. it's so great to have a mother that cares about the same things i care about.

right now, i am looking into volunteering at a soup kitchen. i'm quite into making sure people on the streets get what they need, so if i ever have any extra money, i'll give it to someone who actually needs it. i enjoy making other people happy, i'll pick flowers and hand them out to random people on the streets, it seems to put a smile on their face.

in my mind, i believe i can change the world. friends, and some family laugh at my beliefs, but i know that i can do something right for this world. i am an anti-war activist, and like all of us, believe strongly in peace. it upsets me that not everyone in the world cares about peace as much as they should.

i am also an animal rights activist & i believe that animals are our friends, and we shouldn't be eating them. i say go vegan, or veggie!

i am heavily into music, my musical inspirations are pink floyd, the grateful dead, led zeppelin, the beatles, jefferson airplane, cat power, devendra banhart, etc. i could go on forever.

anyway, this forum seems so completely lovely & it seems as if i'd like to get to know a lot of you, if not all, so if you're into having a conversation with me, it would be really great. that's all i have to say for now.

hi my name is Josh and I live near Tonbridge, Kent, England. though im also known as smelly (i dont need to explain that one).


im not sure id call myself a hippy, though i wear beads, have long hair, smoke pot, like psychedelic music etc etc. ive heard people saying that people become hippies just to defy society, and i think why the fuck not? someone has to do it, our societys values are in completely the wrong places. the point is that some people just follow whatever fashions going without having any belief. im not sure what i believe, but im sure im trying to find out. life is a magical journey of discovery, and ive probably got most of it left so theres no need to say anything definite about my ideas yet.

i also like alot of blues, jazz, bluegrass, reggae and techno. also i play bass guitar in a band with some friends from school and i play guitar and banjo for pleasure.

what i am sure of is that violence doesnt solve anything, and neither does repression. for example, i could be in jail for a long time just for getting some weed for a friend even if i make no profit. thats crazy. i think they should legalise everything. i could still get heroin if i wanted to, its just that the money i spend probably goes towards a terrorist bomb. if they legalised everything, youd have no terrorists and mafia making money off people who just want a new experience and to discover something about themselves.

Anyway, I'm 21 and my chief hobbies are movies, good music, notably old-school rock, you know like 60's and 70's stuff. And basically everything that has to do with art or culture. I write poetry by the way.

I'm very political. But every party in my country bites so I don't support any of them. I very much look up to the political peace movements of the 60s and figures like Abbie Hoffman. I'm kinda anti-materialistic.

I agree with hippies on many issues but not all of them. For instance, some drugs are dangerous and in the time of AIDS free love is kinda all but impossible.

Well whatever, glad to be here and looking forward to meet you all.

I have a 2 year old German Shepherd (3 Yrs old Nov 1.) Her name is Mossey Jo (Moss-EY). She is the best shepherd in the world.. More like a Human than a dog. As a matter of fact she is smarter than a lot of people I know. She is spoiled rotten, she gets everything she wants and more. I love my Lil Shepherd. If You are Reading this Mossey I LOVE YOU!!

i work at kohls...they sell clothes and shit...i have a shitty ass car. its white with a red fender on the driver side, and red grill...it sucks.

i smoke...tobacco and weed...and i drink (hell, im drunk right now ) i really think marijuana should be legalized, or else im goin to canada or amsterdam, ya know....fuck america...

lets see...music. i love music more than anything...i play guitar....and i listen to anything depending on my mood. rock, metal, heavy metal, gothic rock, death metal, classic rock, punk rock, emo, techno sometimes, foreign music (like rammstein ) yet, ill still listen to things like celtic music, irish music, alternative, video game and anime music is cool, um...yeah lots of other stuff...just whatever i feel like listening to. right now i'm into this band called the locust...its fucked up shit...but its great!

political views...im a liberal...i think abortion should be legal, gay marriage should be legal, legalize pot, that's all...go Kerry!

may as well describe how i look...i dont know how to work my scanner, i'd put up a picture if i could. i have blonde hair a little past my shoulders and im letting it grow out longer (it used to be to my ass till i cut it) i have blue eyes, i wear black, plastic glasses (soon im gettin lasik surgery) i wear black a lot...if you know the store, hot topic, i'll be seen wearin their clothes most of the time. but i like to put color on too...like black clothes with colorful jewelry or something...and my nails are usually always painted black

um...my favorite color is green, i like to go out, especially when its cool outside, like the fall and winter (my favorite season cuz of the snow) i love festivals and concerts. i've got a few i wanna go to this fall...mosh pits are awesome and going deaf for a couple days is worth the music and good time. parties are great, i love goin to parties...get drunk...pass out...just to have a good time with the people you know and love.

hey im Abigail im 16 im from Worcester MA akd wormtown i go to worcester voke and im in graphic communications . im a vegertarian been since i was in 4th grade but i do have milk but not eggs or anything with eggs in it or geltin. im the only one in my family who is. i believe in wiccan but it is not my religion but im more on that path than catholic since i do not believe in jesus god mary and the bible but i do not worship the devil i do not even believe in him. i love animals i have a rat pandora along with a dog birds and fish (had more but my dad brought them to live out at his work) i love kids and older people im into photography and am taking classes at the art museam. i have dreads now for the second time piercings and one tattoo but i do not do it for the trend because if i did that just wouldnt me be. i do have a boyfriend who i love deeply his name is mike and he was my best friend and now more we have been dating since march or april. i listen to many different types of music you name it probably like it. i dont consider my self a hippie because i do not lable my self and there is so much more then stay with one clique so dont lable me as anything except abigail.

My favorite musical peoples are Joss Stone, Alanis Morissette, Ani Difranco, Jewel, Tori Amos, Michelle Branch, and a lot more. If I named every one it would take forever. I really like acoustic guitars and powerful female voices.

I also love to read. My favorite books are "Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale" by Holly Black, "Stargirl" by Jerry Spinelli, and "Love and Other Four-Letter Words" by Carolyn Mackler.

I'm an eclectic pagan. I'm influenced a lot by pagan beliefs and feel very connected to nature. But, I also think there is something to be learned from every religion.

According to most of the kids at school I'm a "damn hippie", "a crunchy granola", "tree hugger", etc. I take it as a compliment, lol.

I just really love the earth and I want world peace. I hate war. I hate violence. I just want people to love eachother and love the earth.

i grew up listenting to beatles and bob marley..my 'rents listen to their music. im into rock and punk rock too.....and im sooo in love with bob marley..becoz of bob marley \m/, i was introduced to this hippie thingy.. im like totally anti war..once i wanted to stage a protest and stuff and people were like " don't bother,ure wasting ur time" and "uhhh,dont tell me u wanna be a hippie" and i ended up protesting in my own room in front of the mirror..i tried dressing up as a hippie but i stuck out like a sore thumb..no one here seems to be a hippie..thank god for the internet,atleast i could noe more bout hippies and stuff . god bless the internet.
i dont do drugs and im not a vegetarian..but i think smoking the herb is cool..
