yep.. I agree, you can't personally have any control or way of monitoring over that side of it. But if in some unknown way it was possible to be in an existance that was seperate from this reality/dimension/whatever where you have no way of interfering with this one but were able to view it and were not effected by the same rules as it then you may be able to view anypoints at which time for that realiy ceased to move that it itself would be unaware of... OK there is still a form of time in operation outside of our existance at that point, but our time could pause for vast periods of time (and may do, how would we know) to that outside reality gving them some insight into the impression of a present moment (at least of a moment for us). Ohh man, I hope that makes sense, it maybe going off a bit from the point your making but it is where I am sort of coming from... lmao, these debates really end up getting so far out of possible justifications. Intuitive thoughts are always the hardest to explain as well.... just one of my airy fairy ideas anyway.

Maybe we should have a philosophy thread. But if I thnk about this too much more my head may either just fall of or self-combust...

That's the thing... nobody has proven a seperate other dimension or anything of the sort. Then again, once, when I was stoned, I fell into this big room in my head and I asked for Jerry Garcia and Jimi Hendrix and they were there. I think it was like... the lobby for spirits and souls. Strange... Then some dude from the crow's nest possessed me and started yelling at my friends about icebergs and shit.

No-one may have proven the existance of another dimension, but there are many scientists who have various theories and are working on models for far more complex stuff than we have a hope of scratching the surface with in the realms of understanding... If you only believe what has been scientifically proven then your really letting yourself be led around on a very short lead without the use of your instincts... many things aren't scientifically proven but that doesn't mean they are true, and many things are 'scientifically proven' and then years later found to not actually be correct... They only very recently found smoking to be scientifically proven as canerous. Not until last year could we prove that passive smoking could be directly linked to cancer, but it's been fucking obvious to anybody with any sense of reason for decades that smoking of any type is a cause of cancer. Science is only right until somone proves it wrong, you can't rely on it anymore than anything else, it's just a better and stronger argument, it can never be the absolute.

Science can only investigate and come up with answers to questions, if no one theorises and comes up with ideas then science has nothing to look into, you can't prove something until you have asked the question or established the idea.

 

Well, icebergs and Jimi Hendrix... I have a mate who practises Lucid dreaming, rather he used to. In one of his many lucid moments he met John Lennon and asked him to write him a song, which John Lennon did do apparently, some how he reckons he remembered the song he was taught to play in that dream. I've seen him play it live and give this rather nice little story... hmm, if ya wanna believe that then thats your choice.

I have had a vast number of experiences with entering what would appear to be other dimensions under certain influences (most of all the one below), but I wouldn't be able to say with any certainty if those experiences were anything more than self-created or not... but they were very very interesting and profound experiences.

 

hey everyone! this was such a cool idea. i don't really know what to say about myself =/. i guess i can start with the fact that i'm a huge activist whether it is gay rights, women's rights, environment, political, or etc. i'm also buddhist and a vegetarian--i know, it's kinda weird. i absolutely love music! i enjoy anything from showtunes to the grateful dead. the yeah yeah yeahs, flogging molly, and queen are also great. jimi hendrix and the beatles are timeless in my opinion. can't think of anything else right now...if i do i'll edit later. welcome everyone! i just joined too. thanks for listening!
