internet love

Wow, I feel so good after reading that! Aww crap!

 

it doesn't work out long term. how can you really connect w/ someone via a computer? the distance/time zone are also an issue.

 

sometimes it works, and sometimes you end up having to take out a restraining order, just depends on the people. i personally haven't had the best luck with it. on 2 separate occasions, i met a guy online, fell for him, met him in person and wanted to shoot myself in the face. but, on the flip slide, my mom and step dad met online and are super-cute together and have been together for going on 5 years now. so it's really a crap shoot.

 

I agree. There's no way of knowing which one will work and which one won't. I will say that it IS possible to have an amazing connection with someone online, so long as both people are honest to themselves and each other in terms of who they are, their temperament, sincerity, sense of humor, and the list goes on. I think now that my original questions that started this thread were too much of a yes-or-no type which kind of leads to a blanket statement.

 

I'll be the first to admit I never thought about Internet Love, I wanted to meet someone the 'old fashioned way' but after I split from a ex I got stuck working a lot and found I had not much time to go out to meet new people :-(
So I found a site via Facebook (called Zoosk) I joined up saying what I wanted in a woman and what was going on in my life and I selected a local area.

I met quite a few woman, only a few of them I wanted to see again.

One day I received a message from a woman (about 1000K's away about 620 miles) from where I lived. I didn't reply right away and almost deleted her message.
I then found out I was going to travel close to where she lived so I thought we could meet so I sent her a message saying where I was going to be for the next few days and if she wanted to meet let me know.

She contacted me saying she'd love to meet up and that there was something about my profile she liked and has no idea how she found me that far away.

After talking on the phone for almost a month I flew to near where she was and we met up. She was amazing, we hit it off right away.

Long story short, this was just on 1 year ago and we are living together and engaged to be married in the new year.

Not only that, but I never believed in a 'Soul Mate' as such till I met her, we connect unlike anyone I have have with anyone else (and I have been married before)

But it's the love we have, I have not had this feeling for a woman ever, and she also says the same. So I hope she is the one for me and we die as a very old couple.

Its a big world, full of alot of people. I meet really cool people on the internet, like all of you. and i myself seek certain quality in people, quality you normally don't find walking down the street. Especially that i live in a small town, now when i go out to concerts i meet alot of cool people but as people, everyone has there own certain thing. Now ive always believed in love, becuase i love, its what i do. i love everything, i love everybody for every reason. i love the flaws in humans, the flaws in human are what makes people beautiful, gives people charter. but theirs just never really been a lady that matches with my flow, catches my vibe like i want, and had a state of mind on par with mine(other then that of the small minded sheep people we see in our society daily just fallowing so worryed about small things like style fashion money) a person who leads, a person who walks her own path. A free, simple mindset, open to everything, never closed minded, happy. Dosent want money, dosent like money, could care less for physical possesions. Respectful of the earth, respectful of the creatures of the earth, respectful of all humans on the earth. a free spirit. Now ive always known id find someone, and i did. And it was over the internet. Now the feelings i have for this woman is much stronger then ive ever had for anyone eles, ive never ever found a person on this planet like her, and i would never compare her to another person because she is one of her own, shes everything i could have ever asked for. She was 400 miles away from me. Now one thing i liked about meeting someone online was we just talked, and we would have some amazing conversations about many of the things discussed on the forums here such as life, religion, purpose, goals, paths, music, perspectives, all that good stuff. And the more and more i talked to her, the more fascinated i was with her, the more i took interest in her, and it was the same for her. the way our personality's go with eachother is beautiful, just shes so amazing, she makes me laugh i make her laugh and we just can sit there and laugh for hours at the sillyest stuff, and joke and then out of no where we can talk about some wicked awesome serious minded stuff, then we burst out into laughter laughing at how nothing is serious at all and even though we have all these great thoughts about all this insain stuff, it dosent matter, the only thing that matters, is that the earth keeps going around the sun, and as long as the earth is going around that sun, i will love her, with all of my heart and soul with out a question. and After about a month or so, we both same to the same conclusion, we have something that no one eles has, we dont call it love, its far far beyond love, its like nothing any human could ever put words on it, we made up a word of our own, we call it "hoojick" duno where it came from we where just messing around, everything's a big joke to us, we just smile, and we just make ourself happy, and its the most beautiful thing ever. but one thing i really like about the internet, it is lets you know a person before you meet them. I know her mind so well, i know what she likes, how to make her smile. To the point where i can say "smile" and she smiles. its amazing, ive never ever been happier, and im so lucky and i hope someday you all can find something like this. the best way for me to discribe this, is one soul, in two bodys she is the other part of me. And all my life ive been wanting someone like her, and i have found her, off a silly website called www.potspace.com, that website is ridiculous. i use to think all stoners where cool, intill i went there its ridiculous, there was probably about 5 hippies on that website. and she was one of them, and i started talking to her, and i found out shes everything ive ever wanted all in 1 person and so much more. and im lucky, for finding her. All i can tell you dispite what anyone things, is it does, if your lucky and you find that one person, then your lucky. The internet is just like, acess to so many people. in my perspective it allows me to go right into other peoples minds, when i read all your post, its like a glimpse of your mind, and i go on your profile and read all your post and i can tell alot about you how you post and what you say and how you think, and i really think alot of you people have great heads and minds. Its wicked awesome. And i almost find it silly, i thought the same "what love on the internet?! this is silly" but i feel like ive known this girl for all my life, her name is Alexandra, and shes just a human. And i love her with all of my heart and soul more then ive ever loved anything ever. I wish i could get you to understand, or to experience it, but it wont ever happen. but, its true. i hope someday everyone could experience something like this. but it wont ever happen, not like this, this is a unique love. between 2 people unlike any other people, a love of our own. a "hoojick" =)

I get so down when I read everyone's post here saying, "No, no way!" Blah Blah Blah, How fucking close minded!!!

But here is Floes, putting it exactly like it is. Sometimes you can get very very lucky. But it makes you wonder, is it really....luck?

 

your whole post was amazing, but this part i especially identify with. the internet is great, because it allows you to know a person from the inside out, not the outside in.

 

I really think it would be if u got to talk alot and see what eachother look like. Anything is possible. Anyone need a nice relationship?

 

And silly when you have people upfront telling us that they DID find true love on the internet!

 

Most of the couples that I know that have met over the internetz are fat and oversexed.

That's just my experience with it though.

 

I met my bf online and soon after he came to my city for school for the year.

We're moving in together in a couple weeks

so yes.. it can work

 

it happens/is happening out there.
it works for some people and they live happily ever after.

zackly! thats what i like about the entire thing. its like you get know someone way before you meet them. like i met mooksha at a sts9. its like, i saw him for 5 mintues, i met him for 5 minutes, but ive known him for weeks and i know how chill and cool he is. its like you know so much about a person before you even meet them and its one of the coolest things there is. its like looking right into there minds. i seriously just go through peoples posts and its like i see who they are and what kind of mind they have and there perspective and its totally rad.

 

I think it can work out.. a lot of unnecessarily bullshit is pushed aside when doing the whole online dating thing... like going out and spending ridiculous amounts of money just trying to find someone possibly.. when most of the times people that are out are putting up a front that you somehow first need to break before you can actually know them... online.. there is no need for a front.. if you dont like me well you dont know me.. its the internet.. my cousin just got married to a girl he met online... they have a kid together and are expecting a 2nd... so can it work? sure... if its not gonna work out.. its not gonna work out.. no matter how you met the person

 

Can love happen on the internet? Yes. Is it easy or practical? No. I fell in love with a woman from across the country once. We were "together" for a year, but reached a breaking point- we were both 18 and in school, lived with out parents, and couldn't just move away from home to be with each other. Although we felt very deeply for one another, it was hard to commit to something like that. We broke it off, and I don't have any harsh feelings for her.

I met my boyfriend on a local dating site, and we're living together now and have been together for quite a while. It just depends how dedicated and how much distance there is.

 

well my sweetheart broke up with me today, she was cheating on me with a local dude..

God.. all I know now is that life is hell, and honestly, I don't want to live if it means not having that woman's love. It's been a day already and the only thing I can think is "I want her back".

Excuse me as I cry myself to sleep.

 

I had my ex wife cheat on me, she was the love of my life (and 9 years my junior lol)

But I have to admit, the woman I am with now is my 'soul mate' and I never thought they existed but they really do and she is so much more woman than my ex.
