Doesn't surprise me, but it does make me angry that the American public is complicent in allowing it to happen, because they erroneously feeling their best interests are being protected in the interest of national security. The biggest risk to our natural security right now is allowing our private and personal rights to be eroded.

So i think i might end up changing my lunch time protest subject to internet freedom because it might motivate students alot more then nuclear disarment.

So has anyone thought of creating a shadow internet? Can you create a shadow internet? connecting servers through a wireless system

If anyone can do it it's your new generation. I think you guys are up to the task, I pray you can pull it off.

It's to bad if it does have to go underground, but if the corporate monied powers force the issue I think it can be done, for the betterment of the world as a whole.

You guys/gals do realize that certain countries (China comes to mind) do limit internet access to their public. They can only access what their country deems acceptable. Want that to happen here?

i have heard about this before, and I was just talking about it on Friday with a couple of my friends at lunch. It’s ridiculous! Must they control EVERYTHING that we do? I don’t spend that much time on the internet compared to a lot of teens but it’s the principle of the matter and I’m sick of this kind of shit:mad:

drew172 you could have put that info out without mentioning David Icke. He jumped on the bandwaggon of a serious issue to get self publicity - he's got no credability left but there are people around with a lot of credibility such as Tim Berners Lee the guy who invented the internet - he is also campaigning on this issue which is called
the issue of net neutrality this is a better series of links

    Tim Berners Lee's blog
    http://dig.csail.mit.edu/breadcrumbs/node/144

    wikipedia definition of net neutrality
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_neutrality

what google has to say, and its position on neutrality
however skeptics point out that google is already operating against neutrality, so take what they say with the attitude that they are already making plans to end neutrality - IE do not carry content that critcises google too much

Save the internet.com petition with info on the debate in washington

Danny J Weitzner ( MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory) This is a very easy to read account of the arguments
    http://dig.csail.mit.edu/2006/06/neutralnet.html

Skips post said it very clearly this is what Berners Lee says
Berners Lee is in favour of net neutrality
