But I like grains! I pretty much only eat whole grains though. And I don't know how I could increase my protein intake. I don't like meat that much. I do try and eat it at least once a day, meat or fish. I do like eggs and nuts. And I consume plenty of healthy fats, except from cheese.
I am closing in on my 24th hour. I am getting ready to throw some organic, grass-fed sirloin steaks on the grill.
Both of those are good sources of protein, even though I try to limit my consumption of dairy. Organic kefir (which has minimal lactose) is good, too. I drink these skyr smoothies which have 46 grams of protein per bottle.
I've never seen those. I don't like the taste of kefir on its own, but I sometimes use it on my smoothies.
I did a bit of fasting a few months ago. Pretty much just ate a little protein bar in the morning and that was all for the entire day besides water and green tea. I actually had a ton of energy for the 5 days or so I did this.
I have only ever done a seven day plan of fasting. The first three are only water. Day four add in vegetable juices, fruit juices and black tea. Day five add in raw vegetables and fruits. Day six add in cooked vegetables and small amounts of protein. Day seven add in carbs. Worked well.
I only do it about twice a year and I have had really good success with it. Only adverse thing I have had is a headache always on day two but I think it is more from not having coffee than from the fasting. It passes by day four and all is good.
I'm as skinny as a twig. I think I need something called intermittent pigging-out or intermittent feasting.
