Whenever the mind gets dull, assert : "I am one with God; I am full of knowledge; I am all-powerful-Om Om Om." The mind will be elevated and fixed in meditation.

Is it dangerous to practise Pranayama without the aid of a Guru ?

Master :
People get alarmed without any cause. You can practise ordinary Pranayama exercises without the help of a Guru. A Guru is needed if you want to retain the breath for a long time and unite the Prana and Apana. Books can guide you, but it is better to have a Guru. Do not go beyond your capacity even while doing the ordinary Pranayama exercises.
