It is a fact that the smallest thing can run the largest out of a barn...put a (stinging) bee in a barn with a mule (or horse)...and see who comes running out first. :D

    Yes. I do.

Attempting to grow plant-life outdoors has engaged me in the act of fighting insects. I've used chemicals in the past but the insects are winning the battle. There's just too many of them.

The pest I'm trying to rid my garden of is Pine Tip Moth. The natural enemies are certain spiders, wasps and birds. So, I'm going to plant colorful flowers in an attempt to attract the wasps, spiders and birds.

I'll enjoy seeing the little buggers eaten up by the predators of my choosing.

...but they'll probably end up outsmarting me...

I havn't read of mantis' eating pine tip moths. But neither do wasps, their larva forms in the head of the pine tip larva (which ends the pine tip cycle).

That picture up there is a camel spider. Personally, I think my favourite bug is the vinegaroon. That thing does not mess around. Almost bought one once, but it was gone by the time I came back to get it :(

As for the praying mantis thing - they do eat moths, I dont know about the pine tip moth specifically, but I think you should be good to go.

Yeah the vinegar stuff is a defense mechanism.
The killing part is made with those two big ass claws in front of its face. They get a stong grip on whatever they want to eat, and then they just eat it. Most of the time while still alive

A vinegaroon would destroy a praying mantis.

A crayfish... I dont know becasue the crayfish has a very hard exo-skeleton and the vinegaroon has no poison. When I saw Scorpion vs. Crayfish, the scorpion one because he injected the poison in the crayfish's eye. I think vs a vinegaroon it would just be long and nothing would happen.

Damn... why do I know so much about this? I feel like a weird serial killer in the making :/
