I can only say whats good or bad for me, deanstar doesn't need my opinion to make up his mind. Obviously he has a religious dictate for that anyway, lol

Handy/practical. Not literally necessary. I think you are quoting me for the same reason?

I quoted more than one Piaf and i use colorful language to good effect, not to denigrate. The one I quoted of yours that you are referring to I used as segue to address personally what was going on at large. There is only one version of man in all his diverse behaviors that rings true, polite and impolite are not two of them. We are homo sapiens sapiens, tasting, (inquiring,) and knowing. (learning,) man. Our humanity comes from god.

I'm one of those tattooed unclassy mother fuckers you all speak so highly of. Trust me, even with my tattoos I'm classier than some of the people around here who can be disgustingly disrespectful towards others. I don't think tattoos change who a person is. It's a form of art. Some of you hang it on your walls. I wear it on my skin. My tattoos are for me. Not anyone else. I didn't ask anyones opinion when I got them and I don't really need their opinions now.

As for the question....is it good or bad? I don't think its either. Its a matter of personal preference. I've never looked at a non tattooed person and thought they were a bad person based on the fact that they don't have tattoos.

But it's not disrespectful if they're being polite about it, right, mama rubes?

I am also inkless so far in my life. I've drawn up some ideas and I think I know the direction I want to go but it's just never been one of those "must do" options in life. I'd honestly rather blow the money on something else.

I have a few ideas but they're kinda big. Like I want mjolnir on one side of my body. The hammer stretched out across my side, back and tummy wih the handle on my side stretched up into my arm pit. Quite thick and bold and decorated in knotwork and some meaningful runic inscriptions or runebinds. Then on the opposite side of my body I want the Irminsul pretty much the same way. Long, thick and bold with the pillars spread across my chest and back.

On my back I want an old fashioned Kaiser pre WW1 eagle with its wings spread on my blades. Somehow all of these three tattoos will work into each other on my back. Most likely locked in knotwork and runes.

There are a lot of reasons someone might want a tattoo.
I don't judge people with tattoos any more than I would judge someone with pierced ears. In our modern society, it's just fashion.

I do. I see someone with a gay "sleeve" and I think lol what a dickhead as if you'd get a sleeve, how original.

You do have to be pretty badass to get a sleeve. So bad ass that most sleeves I see just appear to be randomly assorted patterns or the worst, barbed wire.

I agree with the significance aspect of a tattoo. If you can't explain to me what the significance is and you just got it for show.. I don't think I'll find you too interesting as a person. =\

Closest I am going to get to ink. :)

I really do not have an issue with others adorning their bodies, it is just not my thing. :)

My observation is pretty much this. Street gangs and inmates in jail tattoo their faces and bodies until they have no skin showing because they want to be 'shocking' and they want to rank themselves to intimidate others. Now someone in a proper leadership role that is to do with helping people, generally has no tattoo's whatsoever because they see that as detrimental to what they are trying to achieve. That's just a statistical trend that you can see. Based on that observation alone you could say tattoo's are known to happen to distrubed people. I can't scientifically draw that conclusion. But with my common sense in my brain I can dictate that if you want to treat your body as a canvas, you probaly don't undestand how to apreciate yourself, and you couldn't apreciate others. It's a mark on you that basically makes that statement more than any meaning you would attribute it to. if you get it for artistic merit it's a mark that says "I don't understand what art is for". If you get it as a political statement it's a mark that says " I am unfit for political views". If it's a statement to make yourself look agressive it's a mark that says "I am generally a pussy in life". The idea that tattoo's have any merit infact is based on a lack of education, and lack of wanting to do the right thing. Nothing less. I'm offensive because I say something that is generally a lucid statement.

That about sums up this thread now yeah? lol

P.S It's not your body, It does not belong to you. You did not create it. And you cannot of yourself keep it alive.
