I used to live twenty minutes north east of lafayette in Delphi, which direction do you live from lafayette? Peace and love
Bedford here...30 minutes south of Bloomington. I was born and raised here, and love it! It may be a lil boring...but that's why we Hoosiers are the life of the party, LOL, we learn early on to make our own fun.
Hey all, I live in Franklin...and having lived around the world, I have to say, Indiana's a good place to live. It could be a lot worse. No mountains or oceans, but life is about relationships anyway!! Here's to some new ones!
[SOuthern music] :nopity: Hey Yall, I live in good ol' Indiana <wait? GOSH yall, I thaw that wus Indiana *huck* , its actually New york. *Hic* , yep yep
I went to school @ Bedford N. Lawrence in the mid eighties,Then moved to Jasonville. Now THAT is a place with nothing to do. In 1987 I moved to Indy and have been here since. Just recenly moved from Broad Ripple to the near South side.(Fountain Square). If you find Indy boring it is because You dont know where to go.There is stuff to do around here.Downtown,Broad ripple,North side. Any way if there are any local hippies around here that wanna talk,P.M. me. Just a hoosier hippy, Chaz :H
I visit bloomington, IN all the time ... I love being there versus my current residence in florida. I hang at the Runciple Spoon as much as I can, in fact just ate breakfast there this morning. Used to live in Bloomington for school and work. Want to come back but need a job first...so I'm stuck in florida for awhile. course the folks in miami refer to me as "cornfed" , the midwestern girl ... not sure if that is a compliment, but it draws attention because i am not much of a materialist!!! but i am very much akin to my lovely indiana homestate. and of course being a crosleychick i love crosley and my home cities... north vernon, columbus....
Ah, Southern Indiana...the Garden Spot of the Known Universe... New Albany/Floyds Knobs represent y'all.
Well, it is sure in most respects that it's not about where you live that makes it fun, but how you live and the people you know. I will say this is true... in most respects. BUT! Indiana... Shit, I'm only 19 and I can't just go out with my friends to a good ol' party and have a good ol' time without having to worry about the damned police all the damed time. ESPECIALLY up here in Hamilton County. These fuckers have nothing better to do than pull you over. I got pulled over the other day for driving on the shoulder like two feet before a turning lane and got a damned ticket. WHAT THE FUCK!? Completely messed up my perfect driving record! Ok, plus, no one good ever comes out here for concerts and if they do you gotta pay a shitload of money to see 'em, and when you get there, pay a shit load of money for... a Sprite. Yea, a Sprite. Cuz I'm not 21 Ok and then you're always hearing about our crazy weather. I guess it's kinda sorta mild, but it's so sporadic, I'd rather it make its fucking mind up. Anyone remember last Spring when there was a tornado on like a Friday, then that Sunday morning it snowed!? Or how we're getting all this shitty rain for our holiday season... And watch, who bets there will be a random tornado within the next month. I wouldn't doubt it. Then our sports teams all suck nuts. Colts like playing with our emotions "HEY, let's break some records, get a few MVP's, and WAIT lose to the fuckin' Cowboys? What?!" They never get anywhere in the Playoffs. And the Pacers? Who watches them anymore? We lost Reggie!! Corn. Corn. Corn. Cows. Fields.... Ugh -.-
NW here, hangin in portage. lame! its good to know i'm not the only one trying to get out of indy. we should all just get a big bus and get out of here
I'm stuck in god awful Fort Wayne, I truly loathe this city and most of it's ignorant citizens. If any actual liberal (which I guess is likely here) minded people are nearby me, make yourself known, this town is very lonesome.
I don't like Indiana myself. Unless you're a fan of racing - Car or horse - there's nothing to do in Indy. I've spent some time in the South Bend - Jeffersonville, New Albany, Clarksville, etcetera - and it's boring. Quite a conservative area, spare some interesting souls that you might meet in Jeff. Walking by the Ohio River is probably the only thing that is genuinely interesting about the parts, though, Clarksville has been struggling to become a tourist town in the past years. I’ll agree that the weather is erratic, not to mention humid, but I rather like that aspect.
Indiana isn't that bad.. it is what you make of it.... I recently moved to Danville... I'll admit it is pretty boring here and the speed limit is only like 30... but I still find a way to have fun one way or anther.
This is the first action I have seen on the Indiana threads in quite some time. Every state has places that are boring. If you are under 21 years old , it is even worse. If you are in the Indianapolis area, you should be able to find something to do. Broad ripple has bars and restaurants galore. It reminds me of Bloomington a bit too. There is another cool town too, Bloomington. If you are bored, look around for something to do. The Vogue nite club, is still one of the best in the state. Peace yall. J-56 imp2:
Indiana is what you make it. As long as you have a good social circle you will enjoy the place most generally. The police aren't too outrageous, and if they are you can always get a lawyer and find some way to sue them. Anyway I'm in the Greensburg, Columbus area.. Hit me up if ur close, go for a country cruise :-D
