I'd like to have lived through the 1950's 60's and 70's, being born in the innocence of the early 40's. I would have gone to all the rock concerts that is humanly possible to be at, though i also like the attitudes and neighbourlyness *is that a word? lol* of those days, and the movies and television programmes, i just feel so detached in todays world, any1 agree?

i would have liked to have been finishing high school around the mid to latee fifties so that i could've been a part of the beat generation. that would've been beautiful. I love the twenties as well.

Born in '51, I was there for the "Leave It To Beaver" life, and birth of Rock & Roll and youth culture and Elivs, of the 50s, the Bealtes & English Invasion, and counter-culture revolution of the 60s, and it's continuation on through the 70s.
And, I was lucky enough to have lived in the San Francisco Bay Area and Monterey Bay Area in the 60s & 70s. I wasn't personally in on everything that happened then. [that would really be somethin']
But I was there, and experienced it the way we all experience the happenings of our society everyday. In our pop culture/society of the moment, and the media.

Much of what was going on then in society, the US, and the World, was turbulent, violent, and unpleasent. But, just like now, it was what you focused on and involved yourself in that MADE your experience good, or bad. My trip was a good one. Good people, good music, goods happenings, and good places. The Universe blessed me by putting me there then.

It WAS a special, unique, and golden time in many ways.

Everyday of my life I say "Where is my time machine? I NEED to go back -- even if once I got there, I'd still be 56."

I wish I was born in the early- or mid-50s. I want to be able to experience the late 60s through the mid 70s at a college age and live through some of the most awesome times and events in modern history..

Either that or I would love to live in Elizabethan England or in ancient Rome.

Maybe the middle ages, definitely before industrialization... maybe the middle ages, when the air was clean, the weather wasn't so fucked up, and your only worry was finding food, not getting killed by barbarians, and avoiding the plague.

its a tough decision since every decade is unique and i'd like to visit each one, but if i were a teen in the 1930s, i'd be too old to really enjoy the 60's and 70's. i'd probably have liked to be born in the 1950 era so i could see the world when things were really changing, and i'd be old enough to fit in with all the hippies.

I'd probably belong in ancient times, in one of those ancient civilizations. Or during the long samurai period in Japan.
