Look, a skywalker! haha I don't worship Star Wars but it seems like some people do. I suppose it means something to them, maybe they derive some sort of existential truth from it. Everybody misunderstands, thinking these are questions of people's rights. I'm not talking about rights. Of atheists / non-believers .. to hear "God Bless America" must produce some sort of thoughts and feelings. If the most people manage to think is, "well, that's your right to say it" .. I'm left questioning their intellect and mentality. That isn't meant to hurt people's feelings. I'm not insulting them or ridiculing them. Don't they understand what a blessing is?
I don't believe in satan, I know satan. In my experience, most people deny the existence and reality of evil. It must make them feel safe to lie like that, because they sure are lying. Moonglow has a problem with me but that's her problem. The first time we ever interacted, she spoke to me first .. in an accusatory way. Somebody gave her neg rep, she thought it was me. It wasn't. I held no grudge, moved right past it .. but it happened again where she got paranoid and took issue with me. She misreads, misunderstands and I did my best to help her understand. I then pointed out for her just who exactly was giving her a hard time. You're welcome, Moonglow.
The first time I spoke to you was on the orgone pyramid thread.....I asked you if you gave me the neg rep, did not accuse you. Please tell it like it is...only the facts. I do not accuse...I ask...not my nature to accuse first...not at all.
so, still trying to knock me out of here, I feel....accusing me of accusing you. I am really done with this...Wish you all the luck....hope everything goes your way, but please leave me out of it...is all....amen.
ginalee: You know Satan!? Who is he?! Not in mine. Most people call something or other evil. It's easier to 'treat', to alleviate the symptoms than assessing and attempting to eliminate in full the cause of the sickness. But you say evil exists. Where? Will you cite a horrific torture and murder? An insidious plot to frame an innocent individual? What? It's your call. If you can find in malice something more than disease, something, say, supernatural, what will you do?
Yes, I know satan. I don't refer to it as a he. Others do, that's fine. But I don't. I've talked about satan a few times in various places, no need to repeat things I've already communicated. Yes, evil exist but you are decided on what you think it is and what you think it's not. You made that call already, and told me so. We can start an evil thread if you want to, lol
A link to these various places then if you can't be bothered telling me? Everything's on topic. You don't have to answer my questions if you don't want to, or can't.
According to your own words, you've read some of my posts: You've seen because you've read. As I said, no need for me to repeat things I've already communicated. Plus, the audience would like the thread to stay on topic and I'm being mindful of it. I mentioned taking the discussion to a new thread, Dejavu. Let's go discuss which disease makes people steal a stranger's wallet in a new thread, lol
I never said anything about RIGHTS. but what i am reading here is i am stupid because im not bothered by others voicing thier beliefs. Now i think that is stupid. Or it says something about how bothered you get. Maybe you got a few extra hormones this month or something.
Please try to understand, and without emotions or feelings getting in the way. Please. You wrote, That speaks of rights. All throughout this thread, this is what people keep offering .. consistently. But I'm not questioning rights. The first question is something I've wondered about for a long while now. It actually comes from myself. When I hear "God Bless America", the very first thing I think of is all the people who DO NOT believe in God. And it leaves me wondering, what those people think and feel when they hear "God Bless America". There was mention of it being thought of as *patriotic* and I agreed with that .. it DOES seem patriotic, doesn't it. That answer was satisfying, even though I'm still left wondering about the religious / divine aspect of the question. It should be obvious by now what my intention is, which is understanding.
I think i might like the idea of the question in the OP. I mean i could be wrong but i enjoyed this thread up till now but after her last post i would just be repeating myself so im not gonna pull a bulbus and repeat every post i make. I will answer questions on the subject though.
Her intentions ARE obvious and it has nothing to do with understanding. It's become like some sort of slow-mo train wreck that I can't quite stop looking at.
gina: If people want to write on the topic, they can. I don't happen to believe in an audience who can't appreciate how a topic may lead into, or out of another. You really want me to start a new thread called "What is evil?" just for you to say "Satan"!? lol I asked why you believe in satan, all I've seen of your writing on the subject is that you do, or "know" satan as you put it. But if you won't, or can't answer... you know how it goes. As for the stealing of a wallet, surely you're not saying it's evil, are you? You've got to pull more than that to push for its existence! :-D It makes me think that those who say it might try asking, as opposed to what amounts to ordering. Very poor manners. Their not having met god in the flesh is no excuse.
Summary: this thread promises important questions for atheists, yet there are non. Then atheists are accused of being untrue or less true to themselves for coming in here and point out this thread is as useful as an asshole on your elbow
Its really nice of you to care about the feelings of lowly atheists. It doesn't make me feel anything really, except a vague annoyance that Christianity is so pervasive in this country when its really a country founded on freedom of religion, not Christianity specifically. But whatevs. Christians are everywhere so of course we're going to hear "God bless ____" constantly. It happens. I'm just not really sure what point you're trying to prove.
