In the three months I've been here, I quoted scripture twice. And it was relevant to the conversation.

I did see that awesome thread in the Islam forum (quotes from Quran) and I'm looking forward to spending some time there.

    actually, three times.

Pure nonsense. Perhaps you wish it would be so, but a person can discuss anything he wants with anybody without being less 'true'

Uhm, lots of people who don't believe in extraterrestrials have read lots of stuff. Again, wishing it would be so does not make it so. You can say it as many times as you want but... Not everyone who has an opposite view is an illiterate or uneducated... wtf.

How wrong you might be here, many non believes in aliens and god and other things which can't easily be seen have read, maybe more then you have and may have come to their understandings just because they read more then you. Some believers only read till they believe then stop and close the mind on all else, I am sure non believers as well. Everyone has their level of understanding even if you don't like it.
Ever hear someone say "It was in the last place I looked"? Why? Because they stopped looking once they found the item they wanted,,, why would they look any further? same thing with believers and non believers alike. We only look till we find what we need. Some may stop sooner then others thinking that was it.
You can't say a non believer in anything chose not to read unless you like lying to yourself or you have a shut mind. I read lots, I believe but not in any certain religion, just in the basics that we can't be the only ones, there could be a god and there could be aliens, how dare we say we are the only ones or there isn't something smarter then ourselves..... Like the topic of god, we just don't know for sure so we have to read and take it from there, only a few would not be so concerned to try those theories and then decide. I haven't heard many say they wouldn't read so there is no such thing, most with an opinion have at least looked at it, some intensely and still can't believe, but you just said the unbelievable, "They don't read" well maybe not that unbelievable, I am getting that attitude from you already with the religion side of it so I only have to expect more now.

See? You are the one quoting scripture, not the non believers and non religious. I have no scriptures to quote and that's because if someone wants to hear it they can fetch a bible or hit the library, it's their own business how and when they read what they like. But you accuse the non believers of talking about it. Ever see a non believer or non religious person Quote scriptures? Bet not unless there is an argument about religion started and they were drawn in.

I understand, still wanted to make note of it though and I'm glad you gave me the opportunity to do that. Thanks!

I'm finding this whole thread baffling. Of the "Important Questions for Atheists" , we've so far seen only one: how they react to "God Bless America." Are there others? And how important to them is that? Presumably, they'd be in the best position to know. I'd like to know what atheists think are the most important questions for them.

If you read the entire thread, you can see my question asked repeatedly in multiple ways.

    Reason for edit?

Already been said in this thread: the same reason theists enter into discussion on atheism.

Theists are slowly learning to love us atheists! lol :-D

This sounds very prejudiced to me. And completely inaccurate.

Well it isn't inaccurate or prejudiced. But I will add to it that atheists aren't the only people who don't know life .. even people who love God do not know life.

Any idea how many spiritual and religious people have no idea what eternity is? Ask atheists if they understand the spiritual.

You (anyone) can disagree but it's more a *lack of understanding* than a disagreement.

This thread is still going? I'll have to go back and read my earlier posts just to see exactly how I made my points. I was a little drunk at the time. Had I not been, I assure you my dagger would have been much sharper and more precise.

Anyone want to give me a synopsis of the last however many pages this has been circling the toilet bowl?

I'm going to guess it was this.....

    "Science, logic, facts....."

"No....you just have to have faith....."

    "Science, logic, facts....."

    "No....because....but....the bible says....."

    "Science, logic, facts....."

"Do we really know that facts are true?"

    "sigh...."

"Yeah! I win! Praise the lord!"

This arrogance is exactly why I find Christians and Christianity really boring.

I do enjoy studying other religions and talking about their gods, despite your silly ideas of what people can and cannot talk about.

Perhaps it is not so much the particular religion of christianity and her affiliation with it but her self and how she is handling ANY convo on here (if you noticed). I can't help thinking after reading your post, Meliai that it is a pity she is discussing religion on here... as she affirms the bad stereotypes (of only a really particular kind and not all) of it's followers.

This is why I can't stand talking to many of them either. They think and act like they are the only ones with any sense. I don't know what they tell them in the church that gives them fat heads, it's like a brainwashing event of some kind. They come out feeling like they stand on some kind of pedestal above the rest and they get mouthy about it too. Kinda like the samples we have seen here telling us we don't know about life,,, then back tracking even when called on it.

That's your own lack of understanding talking, and it's your projection and injection of the same thing Ruby was trying to hinge upon: rights, allow / disallow, can / can't .. you're projecting it and injecting it.

I never said *anything* about who has the right or not, about who should or shouldn't, about who can or can't.

Reread post #1 and any other time I reiterated the same exact thing.

TRUE atheists never enter into discussions about something that is non-existent to them. This is factual.

Not all "atheists" are the same. And like I said a few times, Ruby is NOT the sort of atheist I'm talking about. It should be clear as day just exactly what sort of atheists I'm talking about. Sallysmart knows, since she got whacked in the face by one of them. Oh, and that guy .. GreatestIAm? Just like I've said, many times .. I know him from an entirely different forum some place else on the internet where he was doing the *exact* same thing that he was doing here. And there are a LOT of people just like him. Ruby, are YOU anything at all like GreatestIam? No, you're NOT. So you're NOT who or what I'm talking about, as I have already said.

Sigh... people just don't read. You'd like to believe that your "rights" are being questioned. They're not. But, this is a spiritual matter. Maybe atheists simply have NO spirit at all. Or dark ones. Who knows.

    Unreal.

Atheists do. We've got spirit. But why trouble yourself over it? Just put us all on ignore and it'll go away! You'll still have yourself to talk to, and the world's your cloister! ;-D

What a pathetic fucking fanatical hypocrite!

    Get a life,
    Ginalee Romanichal!

Racking up almost as may posts in 4 months as it took me 8 years.
"why do atheists waste so much time... bla bla bla".

The vast majority of the worlds population is just fine with thanking and blaming imaginary Gods for all things important and trivial... so why are you wasting your fucking time?

Fucking typical! You know, they've found superstitious behaviors in birds. Twerking your feathers on a rock won't get you another worm, you look like an idiot, you fucking BIRD BRAIN!

    -

Sorry, I just had a few minutes there with nothing better to do than lash out at you.
Must be the current "evil" chemical state of my "spirit".
Don't worry, I have pills to fix that.
    Fancy that,
    Pills to change my "spirit".
    They must be magical.
