That's not the Mike Rutherford I know. It could have been worse, though, and you posted something from Phil Collins' solo catalog.

 

Except when I click new content...nothing is shown....ever. Plus, a general discussion forum would keep all threads in order based on recent posts regardless of whether it was new to you or not. On the old board, you could have 5 pages of new threads, leave the site for a bite and then only see 5 threads total under new content (because they were the only new posts since your last visit). The rest had to be viewed from the respective forums if you hadn't posted in them because they were no longer new. If "new content" worked here...I suspect it would pretty much be the same way.

The way I usually use this site now= check out "my content"> go to a few forums I read> leave if I don't find something to read or post in. How I would use this site with a general discussion= check out "my content"> browse general discussion to see every thread as far back as I care to look and have a shitload more reasons to read/post> then check out individual forums.

You spotted the Phil Collins album cover, ha! My brother was big into him in the 80's which is why I remember it,
but I can assure you I'm not a fan.

 

If you go to the home page then click "view new content" on the right side it should give you options for how far back you want to see the new stuff.

 

Doesn't seem to work very well. Clicked new content for the last month...gave me 10 threads. Maybe it's just something that will get worked out in time. Anyway...it's not my board....I was just tossing out a suggestion that might result in a lot more activity.

 

The reason I mentioned Phil Collins is because, like Mike Rutherford (of Mike and the Mechanics), he was one of the original members of Genesis. Mike Rutherford is a great guitarist, but he sold out big time in the 80s, along with the rest of his band mates.

Ive set this way and it goes up to 320pages.. I dont know what you are all doing wrong

 

I think some people have something highlighted in the "other" category. I just highlight forums and 6 months and I get pages and pages to browse. I do not have anything highlighted in the Other category.

 

for a couple of days after the forums moved I thought they really were dead because no new threads were coming up, then I realized I had "items I participate in" clicked. Are you sure you don't have the search parameters narrowed? New content should bring up a lot of threads if you're not choosing items you follow or participate in.
