Sounds like a great place if nobody notices whether you're barefoot or not.

Why would that be?

Some auto repair shops won't let anyone, barefoot or not, beyond their waiting area for whatever reason. But I've been to my Saturn dealer's service many times barefoot and they've never had a problem with it, nor have I of course. An auto repair shop is no different from walking around anywhere else barefoot.

Please give us some more of your "Common Sense" examples.

Anybody who would have the nerve to throw you out for being barefoot must be nuts because im sure your feet are beautiful and if people dont like them they oughta be ashamed of themselves or at least ashamed of denying service from a friendly young person like you

 

I live in a small backwoods area. Or I did until starting uni. I spent most of my childhood barefoot. You just didn't need shoes in the summer time. Little feet grow too fast to have to buy three pairs of shoes in the summertime, anyway. And as I got older, I just kept spending my time outside of shoes.

There are almost no places where common sense dictates that you wear shoes. The feet thicken and toughen up the more time you spend barefooting. It comes to a point where shards of glass don't even bother you. Bare feet are actually more sanitary than shoes. We clean them more often and they don't pick up germs and nasty things in their treads.

You can say that it's not a big deal for people to be barefoot. I beg to differ. When I went to Washington D.C. and decided to barefoot around town, I got so many horrid looks. I was kicked out of shop after shop, and was constantly whispered about. One of my friends was wearing short shorts and a very revealing shirt and nothing was said about her. But me, fiully clothed and all, I was the odd duck.

every time(some times they just don't notice) i go to wal-mart not 2 min. go by some one comes up to me "i'm going to have to ask you to leave or put shoes on" and every time I say well its not posted so i'm gonna finish shoping. its pretty damn funny they don't have a "we reserve the right to refuse servis to anyone" sign so they just stand there with a blank stare as I walk away.
