and yes, the music is all that matters n the msg. which has nothing to do with haters or thugs. sigh.

(i would have killed to see rock the bells..fuuuckkk)

99% of the time hip hop/Rap concerts suck in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I use to love and still like a lot of underground hip hop (it's just sooooooo overplayed as a genre that I rarely listen to it now). They always draw the same crowd, and despite what you said about not caring what kind of a crowd you're around at a concert, it matters a bit to me. People just bob their heads and try to act "hard", the atmosphere is never even close to the amazingly upbeat atmosphere at a ragga concert or any other good music for that matter. That's not to say I can''t have fun because of it, it's just that I've been to tons of concerts and undoubtedly rap concerts are as a whole FAR worse than any other genre of music.

Opression only affects YOU if YOU LET it. We all make choices.

that's hella debateable. im free in my mind. but that doesnt mean there are people out there that will ... nvm...

you cant deny oppression that still exists and is getting worse n "smarter"

of course you can only control yer mind n yer world but it dont change reality.

I think to some extent we can all choose how opressed we stay, but we can only choose by following through with actions, not talking about it.
Shit, I was a kid living in HUD housing, with a mom on welfare and saw her go to college and become an engineer, owning a home on 1/3 an acre in San Diego (which isn't east to do). Going through a violent relationship and being a single mother.
I am her daughter and with dyslexia and other learning disabilities placed in the state academic decatholon, finished college even after being raped by my dad and now am making pretty good money and married t the nicest most generous man in the world.
It's just choices. I could have not stuck out college. I could have took the easy way out and gotten married earlier and not have had to pay my bills. I sure as shit could have gotten SSI after being raped by my dad and drown in mental issues.
I made choices that would lead me down a road where I would be as unopressed as possible.
Since then I have been in jobs where I have been opressed, but because I my choices I could quit and find a new job easily.
Anyone can fucking do it if I can. It's all a matter of self-control. lack of self-control and determination does nothing but bring you further down into opression. I learned that really young when my mom's neighbors in the apartments were stuck there because they didn't want to go to college, wanted to smoke pot and drink or watch TV all day instead and my mom was out looking for a house.
